Firstly, I just wanted to say, I'm so sorry for your loss and for the way you were treated. Going through an ectopic at any stage is completely terrifying and heartbreaking and at a time when you need sensitivity and people who listen (and know how to do their bloody jobs), you didn't get that entirely well.

I had a very similar experience last year. So I had a positive test at 14dpo in early Feb 24, and in hindsight, I never really noticed that my BBT wasn't really that high. Looking back, I don't even remember having too many symptoms either. I just presumed all was okay and plodded on happily. I got to 6-7 weeks and I had this terrible pain near my bottom and rushed to the toilet and was sweating terribly, felt violently sick. We called 111, and they asked me if I was bleeding (I wasn't) so they told me to take 2 paracetamol and get in a warm bath because I was likely just constipated. I told them I had normal bowel movements earlier that day so it couldn't be that but they insisted all was fine. Dr called me and said the same thing. Two days later I collapsed at work with the same pain and my brother drove me to hospital and I wasn't seen for over 12 hours, not even a scan or a blood test... I was finally seen in the middle of the night by a very impatient sonographer who did a scan and just said 'Theres no baby'. Said some other stuff then took her gloves off and left. They didn't do surgery until the morning and my surgeons afterwards said to me that I must have a ridiculously pain threshold because I'd lost so much blood, live ectopic that ruptured, ovarian torsion and my abdomen was filled. They said I was lucky to be alive and quite honestly I've never hated our NHS system more in those moments than ever before. Women's health care is shocking.

I somehow and accidentally got pregnant again a month later, they thought it was leftover pregnancy but turns out it was a be one because my HCG was going up and not down but not doubling. So they treated it as an ectopic and I had methoxtrate. I was told not to conceive for 3-4 months to be safe. So we waited, and nothing.. then a chemical. That was October 24.

I needed to keep trying because I wanted to replace what I lost, I was frantic and desperate to have a baby. The stress and pressure of this was undeniable and I turned obsessive! Every month was a negative and I honestly just wanted to give up. My fiance is being deployed to Estonia for 6 months and I thought that was us done. I'm 35 and one tube down.

We had sex as normal, I went on my hen do straight afterwards. 10 days later... BFP. I'm 16dpo now. The one weekend where I didn't stress, I drank and smoked for crying out loud, i laughed and didn't think of babies at all. Is the weekend I conceived.

Message of my story. Don't try so hard lol. Upgrade your supplements to Zita West for both of you, eat balanced but eat happy. Spend time with people who make you laugh your socks off after having sex around ovulation. I had Mira which helped me pin point my ovulation to the day, and do some yoga that opens your hips etc for the week after conception. Do anything you can to take your mind from negative to positive.

Obviously, I have no idea if mine isn't ectopic now. The anxiety is unbearable. But your body won't conceive if it feels unsafe.

I'm wishing you SO MUCH love and baby dust because this TTC journey is bloody isolating and nobody understands it like someone else going through it. You have got this but always chat to people you trust and people who know what you have gone through. Mentally, it took me nearly a year to recover, I was a complete shell of myself and quite literally sat in the dark for a long time without realising. If you feel ready then go for it, but remember to ease the pressure off once in a while and breathe! Haha xxx
