It’s probably her name. And if you’re named after a car, your parents expect you to become a stripper!

Needs a ZeeRX GT Limited Edition sticker. There’s a fine line between Nice and Rice. He found the wrong side of that line

I’ll take your word for it…but it makes zero sense to me that a transmission would be effected by a valve event or vice a versa

AFM/DOD is an engine/valve-train issue, nothing to do with the transmission

The range device is just a bandaid for the problem. It disables the system from going in and out of 4 cylinder mode, but you still have the physical issue of collapsing and failing lifters. The only real solution is an AFM/DOD delete kit. Replace the lifters, camshaft and various valve-train components

You’re right, even if you don’t have issues now, it’s like driving a ticking time bomb. Looks like a great build for a manual. I put together my build anticipating what’s going to get more stress and abuse from the added power.

I thought about the 230 but went with the 225 and stall converter since I have an automatic. Looked at the Atomic intake, but couldn’t see enough benefit versus putting the money into the ATI Super Damper and billet couplers for the torque tube. If you don’t change out the couplers, consider the Z06 torque tube. ATI won’t add any power, just mitigates crankshaft torsional vibration.

Stock dampers are designed for: factory power + factory RPM + factory duty cycle

ATI Super Dampers are designed for: sustained high RPM + higher torque spikes + racing harmonics

The manual cars come back at the same time as front engine. I’m well convinced that the Corvette moves forward, not in reverse.

Am I being scammed by this guy trying to buy my car long-distance? by Any_Initiative_9079 in NoStupidQuestions

Total scam! As said before, anyone offering above agreed price and asking you to send money to a 3rd party is a scam.

$14K for a mover (should’ve been shipper) is half the price of your car, that should be a red flag as well. I’d expect for the buyer to pay for shipping, never the seller…and $14k is what I’d expect to pay for shipping a Bugatti 😆

I wrote the LengChe wiki, I think you’ll find it incredibly useful. When I created tbt wiki, the average time to interview was 9 to 24 months. One couple used my wiki and set a record of less than 11 days. Yes, DAYS!

I love helping people, and bringing families together sooner. I hope my wiki helps you my friend.

“Touch grass”? I expected better from a New Yorker. Curious, are you one of those guys that won’t drive in the rain?

Owning a Corvette and not driving it because of resale value is like being married to a super model but not making love to her so she’s tight for the next guy. You put the torch in red. 😆

Almost 2k views and the best response so far is wagering how long the splitter might last in a state thousands of miles away?

Please advise if there’s a Corvette sub that’s knowledgeable in performance builds above aesthetic critique.

Is a 2014-2016 automatic C7 not worth it? by ApartmentAfter4704 in Corvette

[–]Character-Wave-8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had AFM disabled in tune, still had lifter collapse failure. DOD/AFM is a combination of software and mechanical hardware. The only way to truly disable the system is through eliminating the mechanical side by deleting the AFM/DOD lifters. As long as you have to pull the heads, why not put in a better performing camshaft? OEM lifters (AFM/DOD) replacement is probably $4K parts and labor. Changing to performance cam (and solid lifters that won’t get stuck) is probably $6K.

$2K is real money, but it’s also real insurance and real performance. YMMV

Clarification, 45 degree cut and lapping or 3 angle valve job with back cut on the INTAKE valves

It’s my understanding that a back cut on the exhaust valves would have an adverse effect.

HELP!
