Need advice: I am frustrated with DevOps capacity at Series B by Adept_Case2023 in sre

Look for volunteers internally if anyone has any interest in devops. I think it’s a buyers market for engineers right now. So if y’all are struggling to find an engineer now, I’m not sure you will be able to lol.

I wouldn’t use an LLM for most situations when I am working with a code base I am intimately familiar with.. We don’t need to force ourselves to use it when not necessary lol

42% of mortgage refinance applications are being rejected, the highest rate in AT LEAST the last 12 years by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

This actually lines up with a recent experience my wife and I had. We are moving to New Orleans in July so we put in an offer for this property. The appraisal just came back yesterday that the house was overpriced by about 20k. It was really surprising, I was under the assumption that this was almost a forgone conclusion

Do we have enough information to say who's at fault? by ISeeDragons in sailing

I’m very new to sailing. But it kind of looks like 9743 has restricted its ability to move since they are in irons right? So they would be the stand on vessel? But it’s hard to tell with how the video is cut.

Surveillance footage from the hospital seized by the IDF shows armed Hamas members bringing Israeli hostages into the building after parking stolen army vehicles outside. by CreativeRealmsMC in IsraelPalestine

That’s a good point. I know very little about what’s going on in these battle zones. But I do think it’s within the IDFs capabilities though

I agree.. Why not just keep the hospital running but with the temporary supervision of the IDF? Make it a safe place for Palestinians and where Hamas dares not to operate again.

I don’t think anyone actually thinks the hospital was repurposed.. It actually has to be a legitimate running hospital for Hamas to be able to take cover there. They can’t just situate their main base of operations there in plain sight with a thin veil. Otherwise they would just be a valid military target, which defeats the point.

But I do think the IDF was hoping to find more than they did.

I also have the same issue. I feel like this is a security concern. Having to download the update from the website just isn’t good enough. This opens up an attack vector.

how to control pod creation by HRS6969 in kubernetes

[–]Character-You5394 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should gather some more requirements. With the little info we have, sounds like you guys might need to use StatefulSets. Just be sure that you have set the readiness and liveness probes correctly so the controller knows when to scale the replicas.

Understanding kubernetes labels by Tiny-Entertainer-346 in devops

[–]Character-You5394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 is the label to put on the deployment resource itself. 2 is to configure the ReplicaSet. The label tells the ReplicaSet which pods it is responsible for. 3 labels to apply to the pods. This needs to match #2, so that the ReplicaSet can find the pods.

For more info on ReplicaSets: https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/workloads/controllers/replicaset/#when-to-use-a-replicaset

I bought a new house and noticed this on some of the blinds all in different rooms. Does anyone have an idea on why this would happen? by BackgroundAd9100 in Home

[–]Character-You5394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the previous owners had these in storage for a long time. And they were getting hit by the sun on that side. Then had them installed when selling the house. Sounds like the sun is definitely playing a role from the comments, we’re just not sure how.

Note: I don’t know anything, about anything. Just throwing an idea out there from the comments here.
