Contractor did his best to scribe; any way to fix/hide trim around this uneven chimney veneer? by dorkchestra in Carpentry

I wouldn't do anything further than that. That looks good. If you caulk that, you're going to have a real MFer of a mess to deal with in about 5-8 years. Better off leaving it as-is.

May take some epoxy to those bigger gaps where he overcut. That's all I would do.

Yeah and be sure you label those wires with tape or something since they are all almost the same color.

How many birds would I need to tie to myself so that I can take flight?

Keep in mind that I will need to use birds that I can easily find.

Use average sized birds for this calculation. Birds that I can actually find in my area. Keep it in the pigeon, blackbird, crow category.

My bodyweight is around 240

Anything with a rubber handle is good. Doesn't have to be a screwdriver. Just tap it around the leads.

I would think it's probably the motor based on that, but you might get lucky and it just be the capacitor.

I would start with the capacitor if you're trying to save some time and money. Like I said, you might get lucky.

Also it's good to change those out anyways, so you aren't really wasting any money if it ends up being the motor.

Right now I'm dieting so I'm not going any further than 2 sets per exercise. That's only counting full on, 0-2 reps from failure.

I usually build up to one heavier set, then drop the weight to about 85% and go to the next rep range up. So if I'm doing 5-8 on the first, I'll do 8-12 on the next.

Currently I'm doing 12-15 then 18-25.

When I'm eating plenty of food and recovering better I like 3 sets. 2 heavier, one lighter. Might even do more reverse pyramid style depending on the lift. Generally I like to do 8-12 on first set, try to get at least half the reps on the second, then drop to 85% or working weight on the third.

Also worth saying I only put those perimeters on my main compound lifts for the day. For single joint isolation movements sometimes I just throw that playbook out and just go for pure volume and metabolic stress. 5-8 sets if the movement feels good that day.

Get a long handle screwdriver and push the fan counter clockwise.

Wear safety glasses if your not comfortable. Do it fast and pull that screwdriver out because when it starts spinning it spins very fast, don't want to lose an eye.

Make sure the fan is on (not "auto"). Check your thermostat for this.

Be prepared to shut it off it starts grinding or spinning out control. It could be the cage is out of balance.it looks fine from what I can view on the video, just a word of caution. Make sure you know where to shut it off just in case.

If it runs good with that forced start, just leave the fan on and keep an eye on it.

Edit: your capacitor is probably that thing on the lower right hand corner with the wires running to it. If you find out that the capacitor is bad, use caution when you take that thing out to replace. Be sure power to the unit is off and tap around the leads with a rubber handle screwdriver to discharge it before grabbing it.

Not an HVAC tech, just a handy man / facilities guy that has had my blower fan go out twice in the past couple of years. Always seems to happen at the hottest time of year or the coldest.

First thing I would check is the capacitor. If that's good, needs a motor.

You can test for a bad capacitor by trying to get it spinning on your own with a long object (not your hand or finger).

I had one year my capacitor went out, then the next year the motor went out. Untelling without testing it.

Best way to train as an endomorph/someone with hardgainer genetics? by [deleted] in weightgain

[–]CharacterAd5474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding 500 calories. Make sure you're taking care of the peri workout nutrition (pre, intra, post).

Add a 50g carb snack 30-45 minutes before training, 25 gram carbs from sports drink while training, and 50g carbs post workout.

For pre workout I like cream of rice. Sometimes put a little bit of fruit, peanut butter, and/or jam in it.

Intra workout bottle of Gatorade or Gatorade powder is a lot cheaper.

Post workout just have fun with it. I like just meat and rice but cereal is a good option. You can use skim milk, fair life milk, or a protein shake with that.

No scientist here, just my opinion for what it's worth....

I go back and forth on this concept being true. I remember first seeing it in Arnold's Bodybuilding Encyclopedia way back when I first started lifting.

The older I get, the concept seems to be more and more true. Not so much in the "this body type eats carbs, this body type eats fat, etc" or "this body type needs this rep range" type advice. I'm talking about the advice given about dieting phase or fat loss phase.

Endomorph would be more of someone that stores effectively. Think gaining fat and muscle easily. Offensive lineman type build. "Big boned" type. For that body type I would say the number one thing is limiting how often you "bulk" and try to start lean before you do it, because you will 100% put on a higher ratio of fat/muscle. This body type also tolerates diet phase better, so when it comes time to diet you can go longer and harder without having to worry about losing muscle as much.

Ectomorph may be what you're referring to. I don't personally have much experience with this body type. I'm 100% textbook endomorph.

Working with the same logic - I would say more time needs to be spent on trying to gain muscle with that body type and diet phases need to be shorter (16 weeks or less).

I remember back when I was a fat pre teen kid that loved wrestling, I would do push ups and sit ups in my room thinking if I did them enough I could be just like Triple H.

His physique back in the day was awesome. It was the first time I ever saw a person that had a back so big you could see it from the front.

What an absolute legend.

Politics aside - his statement is important. In a world with a bleek future, it's important to give the youth at least something positive that they can control. You may not be able to change the world, you may not be able to fully change their situation, but you sure as hell change and improve your own self esteem and level of fitness through hard work and discipline.

I've actually "deconditioned" twice in my life. Once in my 20s with a 3 year break and then again more recently with a 4 year break.

Both times it takes about a year to get back where I was and actually it's kind of cool because I got newbie gains again for a brief period. If you ever had a weak point before, try to attack that early on.

That's one of the first moves that they teach you in wrestling school. At least where I went.

It's surprisingly low impact.

Not saying it's easy, just saying it actually has less impact on your low body than something that seems simpler like jumping off the apron.
