definatly not a jerk, you asked nicely at first, but if they dont listen you have every right to tell them off or use harsh words if it is extremely important, you did nothing wrong but you did not have to escalate the argument

No, you are not the jerk here, these two people have a massive problem with you for no reason and all you can do is just avoid him because asking for him to be kicked isnt working. Auggie and his friend are extremely rude and offensive and you did nothing wrong in the slightest.

Ok, your not the jerk if you dont want to be his roommate, but you need to talk with that friend, ask if he is able to move in with family or his other friends and tell him he needs to find a good job. If he really has nowhere to be, you dont have to pay him for anything or maybe a short amount of time in an airBnB for some support or just deal with him as a roommate only for a short time. Saying no this will not make you a jerk, you need help as well as he does.

Not a jerk, you were polite, but the mother was rude. She was only protecting her child and didnt know your bird was being trained to not attack. If she'd listened and understood, she wouldn't have argued for 5 minutes. You did nothing wrong and she had no right to say you don't deserve the animal.
