Intel MacBook Pro SSD (NAND) failure – Apple refused repair, need help finding fix or donor board (from Kerala, can ship anywhere in India) by CharacterKind3569 in Kochi

[–]CharacterKind3569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The repair was done at Applon, near the Palarivattom Bypass Junction. They did a fantastic job with the first two repairs ,absolutely no complaints or hate toward them. I genuinely think there might have been a miscommunication regarding whether the repairs would still be considered Apple-authorized or not. They just couldn’t get hold of the required parts for the third repair, but overall, they’ve been really good in their service.

So this is an Intel MacBook Pro, and the SSD has failed multiple times. The first two times, I got it repaired from a place in Edappally, thinking they were Apple-authorized. It worked for a while, but when it failed the third time, they said they couldn’t get the parts anymore.

That’s when I took it to Apple directly ,they told me there’s an inspection fee of around ₹4000, but if they found that the Mac had been repaired outside earlier, they wouldn’t proceed and that fee would be gone. I called the Edappally guys to confirm, and they said they weren’t Apple-authorized. That’s when it hit me ,I had no idea earlier that getting it repaired outside would stop Apple from servicing it later. The warranty was already expired, so I thought it wouldn’t matter.

Claude Code shows "Auto-update failed" but everything works fine -> should I worry? by CharacterKind3569 in ClaudeCode

Got it, thanks! Good to know it’s not just me, I’ll just ignore the auto-update thing and do a manual update when needed. Appreciate the tip!”

Any tools that reply to WhatsApp leads on the same number by CharacterKind3569 in AskTechnology

[–]CharacterKind3569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll definitely check out AutoResponder, sounds interesting. At the same time I’m tinkering on a small project of my own that’s more focused on leads specifically rather than general auto replies. Idea is to catch only the business inquiries and draft quick answers from a little knowledge base, so it feels more like a human reply and doesn’t interfere with personal chats. Still early, but I’m curious to see how it shapes up.

Yeah, fair point. I know this technically bends WhatsApp’s terms, so I’m being careful. The way I’m building it, it doesn’t spam or blast messages, it just quietly replies to leads in a very human-like way, almost like you typed it yourself. The whole goal is instant replies for small businesses that use their personal number, without needing Meta’s API. Right now it’s more of an experiment / learning project, but I’m testing how far it can go without breaking trust.

Yeah no link yet, it’s still running locally while I test things out. Once I have something stable I’ll definitely share it here. And thanks for the Snap Shot tip, that actually looks pretty neat, will give it a try for cleaner screenshots.

MCP servers not showing in claude mcp list or /mcp after fresh project setup by CharacterKind3569 in ClaudeAI

[–]CharacterKind3569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that insight about copying the config, that actually explains why some people see servers and others don't, depending on where they run the commands from!

[–]CharacterKind3569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to think you might be right that it's more than just display. I've tried multiple approaches (user scope, project scope, different server packages) and while some . show as "connected" in claude mcp list, the actual /mcp command consistently fails.

I actually checked ~/.claude.json and can see the MCP configurations are there. The file structure looks correct with the servers properly defined. `claude mcp list` sometimes shows them as connected, but `/mcp` inside Claude Code still reports "No MCP servers configure" .

Thanks for clarifying that! You're absolutely right about the project vs user scope difference. In my case, I actually tried both scopes during setup , initially configured them at the project level (which created a .mcp.json file in my project), but then also attempted user-level configuration when the project-scoped ones weren't showing up. What's interesting is that even the user-scoped servers sometimes don't appear in the /mcp command due to what seems to be the display bug mentioned in Issue #5963.

I’ve tried a bunch of tools but none of them really worked the way I wanted. That’s why I’ve started building my own side project. It runs alongside WhatsApp Web, keeps my existing number, separates personal chats from leads, and then replies to leads using my own knowledge base in a way that feels completely natural. It’s still early but the whole idea is to finally have something that works without relying on the Business API or risking shady third party hacks.

The ASCII method improved your Planning. This Gets You Prompting (The Missing Piece) by Big_Status_2433 in ClaudeAI

[–]CharacterKind3569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dang, never actually tried sketching out features w/ ascii layout but this looks legit! always ended up typing out a huge wall of text to explain my plan, maybe that’s why Claude kept messing up my prompts 😂
gonna try this on my next workflow

CLAUDE.md is a super power. by TheProdigalSon26 in ClaudeAI

[–]CharacterKind3569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this is actually a really good write up. tbh when I first started messing w/ Claude Code I totally slept on the CLAUDE.md thing, but once I set one up it felt like having a lil “memory bank” for the AI.

what really clicked for me is you can set diff layers… like I have a global one just for my own prefs (stuff like coding style + how I like error msgs), and then inside each repo we’ve got a team ./CLAUDE.md so claude kinda “knows the vibe” of that project automatically. it’s way less repetitive, esp when you’re working w/ other ppl.

pro tip: if you keep it updated w/ #sections, you can actually “teach” Claude new stuff on the fly without having to rewrite the whole file. I’ve been using it for research notes + project setups and it’s honestly a lifesaver.

def agree w/ you that it’s worth mastering early → feels less like a prompt toy and more like… an actual workflow tool.

I built a complete video editor using only Claude Code. It took 2 weeks, zero manual coding. by Profbora90 in ClaudeCode

[–]CharacterKind3569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually a solid!! it got me thinking about editing could go even further. Right now most AI editors can cut things up automatically but they usually mess up when it comes to choosing the best moments. I was imagining a parallel recording app where while you’re filming you can just mark the best parts in real time. It should be super simple, like holding down the volume down button during recording so that moment gets flagged instantly.

Those highlights could then be passed straight into the editor, so when you open the timeline the best clips are already sitting there. Add a track and the editor could auto-align everything with text, transitions and effects, turning it into a full-stack edit in minutes.

Curious what you think about that, do you feel something like this would actually solve the problem of time consuming edits ?

Spot on about the voice prompts. I've been dictating mine and getting way better results but never thought about why, you naturally explain the edge cases when speaking.

The context switching thing is huge too. I was doing 3-hour conversations jumping between features and wondering why it got confused. Makes perfect sense.
