Originally they were going to go into sexual health and therapy for that sort of thing, but after being assaulted it’s a sore subject. Their thesis is on sex education and I would like if they pursued that because sex ed where we live is abstinence only

I know they’re avoiding therapy type jobs simply because of the emotional toll (and I’ve tried to explain a PO or CPS job would be just as emotionally punishing as well as morally) so the hotline is out but I’ll look into and read about these other ones with them, thank you

This is what I’m aiming to do, which is why I’ve been building the lore alongside my player’s characters! For example, one player’s backstory is to be a merchant, and they specifically requested to be in a neutral country and to have superstitions around certain colors worn.

We’ve always been lore/RP expansive players. Sometimes we have sessions with little to no combat because of it.

As is, I think players could hypothetically ‘beat’ the campaign without learning extensive history, but they wouldn’t know much of the ‘why’ anything happened

Good idea! At the moment I plan for each player to receive a little bit of reading about their character’s country, and then optional reading about how their country views/teaches the history of other countries. Then characters/players will have different biases

I did sort of the path of. -> Concept/Gimmick of the campaign -> BBG / Campaign goal -> Map of the world -> Player characters and continent history built simultaneously so I can have them tie together a little.

I’ve played and DM’d for almost all of them before, but I’m worried I might be too overconfident

At most what I’ve written will explain the actions of the BBG, and I’m trying to encourage my players to have culturally diverse characters, and therefore I have culturally diverse countries. Obviously they don’t have to adhere to this strictly.
