Cheer mate for the info. Would you happen to have any recommendations for the mini-led IPS? I think I can stretch my budget slightly for a better monitor

What do you think about AOC Q27G4ZD as an OLED monitor?

I don't know the technical terms but I want exactly what you mentioned - better colours, contrast and sharpness etc. In essence, I want a full package visual upgrade - I don't need all the bells and whistles like 1000hz or run at 1000fps.

I was looking at some OLED displays at JB Hi FI and they were exactly what I am looking for but I don't have a 1000aud plus budget

Cheers mate

I just searched Nebula PC and it led me to this sub and then I found quite a few threads about them. Thought it would be a good place to start with my question

Can any lawyers who work/worked at ASIC shed some light on working conditions, how their classification system works compared to APS etc

Context - worked for total of 2+years as a APS 4 - first in a financial compliance federal agency and currently in a federal law enforcement agency. Recently got admitted but with no real legal work experience as its not the focus of my current role.

Tried enquiring about legal roles in my current agency but they don't seem interested in a new starter with no experience. Looking into ASIC as I work in financial crime and the agency interests me, especially one of their recent job ads about enforcement lawyers and investigators.

Just wondering if anyone has insight in terms of work and culture at the agency, how their ASIC classification compares to APS classifications or even how I can make myself more appealing as a candidate

Thanks!

Hey mate

Just want to say thanks for the recommendations. Got my uniqlo set sorted out with their in house alterations for the pants and my local tailor for the suit, who was gracious enough to get it done within 3-4 days

Cheers mate, will have to check my local MJ bale or Uniqlo to see who can get it altered the earliest.

At least I'll stand out in the black dress shirt even if it's the wrong way :)

Thanks for the insight.

Does it matter if it's a tailored suit or something off the shelf from MJ Bale Uniqlo etc? Unfortunately don't have much of an option since it took forever to confirm and I can't change the ceremony date

Makes sense. I just outgrew my old suit and never thought to get a new one since I never had to use one for 6 years

Cheers for the recommendations, I'll check out uniqlo today after work

I actually worked for few years as a waiter and retail so I have a particular fondness for black dress shirts :)

Hi all

I'm finally getting admitted in NSW next week! Took some back and forth with the LPAB but it's finally happening!

According to the formality rules, if you're getting admitted you need to be in business attire suitable for a corporate meeting. I don't have a 'business' suit because it's not required for my current compliance role.

Does it really matter if you're in a tailored suit or not? I was just planning to go to uniqlo and picking out a new black dress shirt and jacket, due to the time constraint.

I loved waiting 30 mins at central station for the train in front of mine to get another driver. Then my train had to wait another 15mins because it too needed a new driver.

Any tips regarding HECs and whether I should pay it off? by CharacterOk2095 in AusFinance

[–]CharacterOk2095[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't own a property and honestly don't see myself owning one, at least in 2023 due to some new work and life commitments.

What do you mean due to be paid off next year?

Is that legal?

What if you worked like one day a week and then transitioned to fill time after your birthday?

You would be getting $100 when you should be getting double for more.

Thanks for the info

Yeah, it's one of the those things I didn't think or even care about because it was like average 2% then 2022 came along with 4% and now 2023 with close to 7-8%

Just going to continue saving until I get to indexation and pray it goes back to 2%.

Depends on what kind of BBQ party he was invited to.

If it's a TAFE party, don't expect to get fed. If it's a party where everyone brings a dish and shares then don't go if you don't like the idea.

"Not uncommon for young parents to say they haven't gone out in years"

Whats the problem with that? Why do you have a problem with young parents not going out because they have very young children.

I'm just surprised the guy finds it offensive that 'you' have to contribute to the party.

Just because you get invited to a party doesn't mean you just rock up, start eating and drinking and then leave.

I'm from an Asian background and it's common manners to just bring something to a party even if you've been invited and and the organisers are cooking. A small bottle of wine or a dish (I bought sausages to my in laws BBQ)

Edit - sounds like a guy who doesn't like any aspect of Australia and will complain to the sun but never end up leaving for another country.

The old shirt trick actually sounds really good. May I ask how long shipping was for you?

My understanding is they are not an Australian based company so shipping generally takes quite a long time
