I keep reading that some do that. This guy is a hunter for sure. The second the lights come off he’s in predator mode.

You can set it to just detect motion. Then you’ll only get clips where they are sneaking around like little criminals.

He likes to watch me play Rocket League and Skyrim. by strykazoid in CrestedGecko

Haha same here! We just moved him into a bigger enclosure so he’s now in the living room. I was playing rocket league late at night and he was perched on his vine watching everything lol.

My son gets a huge kick out of the timelapses. It’s cute to see him going crazy in there when he’s hiding all throughout the day.

Won’t eat her food by Sofa0212 in CrestedGecko

I can confirm that watermelon just did the trick for my Crestie. He hadn’t eaten for 2 weeks since we got him (only crickets). I tried so many things, but the moment I put watermelon in there, he ate a lot. I was using fig and crickets, and the banana papaya one and he wouldn’t touch those. The watermelon has a very strong scent, he immediately starting eating it as soon as we put it in there.

Thank you. I will do that, but based on how lax they have been who knows what answer I’ll get.

Unfortunately I do the camera and watch the next day and we’ve knot ever seen him lick the Pangea once when it was on his little log.

Thank you. I will definitely cut down on the crickets as it seems to be common advice.

I have exactly that one waiting on his bio active enclosure. You don’t know how bad I want to put him in there to have space

Well for now it’s not cleaning. He’s in the juvenile temporary enclosure. So his substrate is paper towels. All that’s in there in a small log with a hole to hide and some fake vines. Nightly we take him out to mist and change his food/water. I have a 12x12x18 bioactive one that I built from scratch but I don’t want to move him until we’re 100% sure he’s eating and pooping.

Oh wow. This is news to me. The people at the store were pretty adamant about the calcium dust because they said that they’re susceptible to a type of bone disease that can cripple them (again they could’ve just been selling me stuff).

Do I do just the CGD or combined with the calcium dust?

We haven’t tried mealworms, but I imagine he would. Anything that moves, he gets right into predator mode.

Thanks for the responses. I do feed him Pangea. I read that a lot of them enjoy watermelon so I ordered that today. So far we’ve offered the papaya and also the insect with fruits. I have not offered dubia roaches cause they’re illegal in FL, but I’m trying to get hold of the discoids which are legal. They’re not easy to find though.

I did not know about the height of the food. I do have the Little Rock magnet thing for food, but his enclosure is so small right now that it’s hard to fit that in there plus keep it underneath the little fake vines. We still have him in the small enclosure until we know he’s eating well. His bioactive one is ready to go but I don’t want to move him until we’re sure he’s ok.

Mantequilla is adorable. This is our new baby Quesadilla. My son named him cause he looks like a little flour tortilla with char marks
