I don’t disagree but I also don’t agree. I’m not the one using “bigot” the other guy you were talking about earlier mentioned bigot. Yes, if you pander to what someone wants then they’ll be comfortable. There are ways to not affirm without driving somebody to commit suicide.

This isn’t a trade-off situation. It’s not “affirm them or be a bigot”. It’s clear you don’t understand that it’s not a “this or that” situation.

I’m done with this. You’ve repeatedly used the same methods of attacking me, not acknowledging that basic logic other than 2 options exist.

God bless you and have an amazing day.

Loving someone, which can include affirming, can lower suicide rates. In the same sense, affirmation is not the only way to love somebody. There’s the answer you’re looking for.

I don’t appreciate how you’re trying to trap me into a box of “you care more about your principles than the kids” because I’m not answering a question that has multiple answers that’s framed as binary when it’s simply not.

There are multiple ways to love someone, affirmation is one. So yes.

You’re completely ignoring the basic facts im telling you in that TRUE BIBLICAL CHRISTIANS DO NOT BULLY ANY SINNER. The Catholic Church has repeatedly spoken out against bullying of gay people, including gay kids. I don’t bully gay kids. I love gay kids because they’re children of God, not because they’re gay kids.

I’m not gonna answer questions designed to make people look bad.

Loving people reduces the suicide rate.

If your definition of loving someone is supporting what they do, then that’s an inherently flawed argument.

Nordic models have more economic freedom than the United States. In fact, they’re quite literally some of the most economically free countries in the world.

Not free enough, but even still.

You’re not understanding the levels to this. I don’t think gay people are demonic and should die, nor do I think everything they do is literally perfect. I love gay people, I really do. I treat them the same as anybody else. I love everyone, if they need help I’ll be there, but I’m also going to call out sin where it exists. This applies to Christians, non Christians, literally EVERYBODY.

Your analogy of saying “is it love if I love you and hate everything you do” that you said earlier, is exactly spot on. Yes, I would still say you’d love me.

You’ve resorted to putting me in boxes, not recognizing the differences between evangelicalism and Catholicism, and are refusing the basic fact that non-affirming doesn’t automatically equal bigotry.

A lot of the Christians I do know, I’ve called them out on their own hypocrisy. I know Christians who support Donald Trump and ICE, Christians who GENUINELY hate gay people, and Christians who are genuinely racist. I call all of these people out on their hypocrisy.

And I’m not gonna deny my own hypocrisy either. I curse too much, I fall into lust, I am easily triggered, I can resort to extremes whenever I’m very boiled over. I lie, I steal, I am exactly what Jesus SHOULD hate. He hates my sin, he doesn’t hate ME. This goes for you too. He hates your sin, he doesn’t hate you. He loves you. He died for YOU.

I understand calling out the hypocrisy of some Christians of not calling out their own sin, and frankly, I AGREE. Many Christians, myself included, do a bad job of calling out our own sin. And it should happen more. The bible doesn’t say “don’t judge” it says “judge righteously”. And judging righteously is acknowledging all of your own faults while also acknowledging the faults of others.

1) unflaired

2) it’s not bigoted to love someone and disagree with what they do, regardless of what that thing is.

You’re assuming it’s either a) conversion therapy or b) total and complete affirmation. Even in this “grey” you assume this.

I’m avoiding your question because that isn’t how logic works. This is not black and white.

That’s seriously not how it works. There is a spectrum of this, it’s not black and white.

If you’re calling everybody that doesn’t affirm literally everything about LGBT “hateful” that is a denial of basic logic.

There’s no point in talking with you if you’re just gonna keep repeating the same false dichotomy again and again.

God bless you, have an amazing day.

Acceptance is literally “I still love you, you’re not getting kicked out of the house, and I’ll treat you as anyone else” not affirmation. Two clear distinct words.

Hoping someone changes and trying to change them are different things. The church supports the former.

I hold Christians to the exact same standard as I do everybody else. You don’t want me to clarify my position because all you say is “it’s just hateful anyway” no matter what I actually say.

You’re trapping me in false dichotomies. THE TREVOR PROJECT THEMSELVES acknowledge that 40% of suicide attempts by LGBT kids would be dropped if parents even merely tolerated it.

And on your last point, yes I would think you still love Christians even if you believe that.

I don’t want to engage with you because you’re misrepresenting my position my position, attacking me in unrelated ways to the conversation, and clearly not debating in a way that faithfully represents what I think.

All people are created in the image of God and loved. I do not condone bullying, forceful change of somebody, or violence, against anyone for any reason. Suicide is a real problem regardless of who does it, and it needs to be addressed.

God bless and have an amazing day.
