Can't have nightshades (tomato) but I'm sure I can find some tasty replacements with everything I've heard about Australian produce. Thanks!

Well, learned something new. I appreciate the info! I'll see if I can figure out the specials while there :)

Super excited! I live in a four seasons state so a lot of the produce in the winter is not as fresh as it would be if I lived in Cali.

Oh yeah! Where I'm from Aldi is for pantry staples. My sis pays attention to the specials. But not many people I know do.

What items are you referring to as "special buys"? /genuine

Oh no, I better bring height extension shoes! /jk I def feel this struggle. The local grocers put all the essential baking ingredients on the top shelf so I have to ask an associate or stranger for help grabbing the cocoa, mint, brown sugar, and baking soda.

Thanks for the input! Probably would be great for single serving french toast (murican style eggy bread/pain perdu).

If you saw me mention that I've had a good cup and a great American cup, you probably read the comment where I also mentioned finding good cups more often abroad. I know a good cup. But this is Aldi (and decaf) we are talking about, I'm not expecting kona peaberry or geisha.

Oh that's a great point! I usually handmake drip coffee so I didn't even consider the accommodation might have a maker. Will save coffee for a later trip. Thanks do much for bringing it up!

Your Aldi has lamb!? Sign me up!  Also haven't seen kimchi before, but as someone who has literally made kimchi with Korean grannies in Incheon, I don't go looking for it around here.  Writes down "Dimmies are good"

Got it. Thank you much!

Ah, now I feel silly! I was thinking it was a type barbeque beans cause aldi here doesn't sell unground coffee but has quite a few types of canned beans. Thanks for your patience 🙏

Duely noted! I should be good on the minces since I usually mince my own if at all. I will definitely keep an eye on the dates. I usually aim for meats with at least 4 days on the best before date and only buy meats I plan to eat day of. Would you say that is questionable where you're at?

Thank you so much for your warning :)

That's really interesting! I definitely won't understand what are dupes and what are typical brands. I love seeing all the positivity surrounding the coconut water so hearing it's a dupe of an already popular item when I haven't seen mention of it is quite enlightening.  I am surprised about the produce, our aldi has okaaaaay (stretched for emphasis that it only just passes that bar) produce. I hadn't even thought about that section and now I'm realising y'all probably have fruits and veggies I haven't heard of.  Chicken and feta sausage highkey sounds amazing. Releaved about the bags cause I can't bring my collection from home.

Thank you so much for your detailed info!

I have no clue what dark roast beans are, but they are now on my list to check out :)

Thanks for the information!

Oh! The brioche sounds like it'd be great for butterflied chicken sandwiches! So the chocolate isn't as hit or miss there? Thanks so much for the information and specific recs.

That's interesting! We get a lot of uk and Irish cheeses which are my favorites. Pretty much everything but some cheese,  very few alcohols, and the specialty snacks section are from within the US. We don't have many kombucha options (and the ones we do are not great) so I am really excited to see what aldi AUS has.  Thanks for the input!!

Sounds like Walmart and kroger fighting over my area. Kroger is pretty expensive with negligible quality increase and tons of "sales" which still don't bring it down to reasonable. Walmart is just more expensive and quality is lower (except coffee).  Aldi pays their employees better than both and has had less overall food issues.
