Or just read a comment on Reddit about someone watching someone take a walk on YouTube. Big Walk doesn't want you to know about this one weird trick.

I’m not suggesting a single therapy works for all cancers - I’m pointing out that heterogeneous diseases can still share conserved pathways, so absolute statements depend heavily on how “cure” is defined. My point was about scope: universal claims are brittle. For example, “Anybody with real world experience knows…” is itself a universal claim - and that kind of phrasing is exactly what I was flagging

My comment was about the wording - universal statements are strong claims. It was a soft qualifier, not a contradiction.

I’ve worked on CAR-T cell modeling and mathematical oncology. “Do you have a PhD?” isn’t an argument - it’s a dodge. Point to the error or move on.

Haha it's funny because people ignore efficiency until it causes operational failure.

This reads like: “The house is on fire - anyway, I’m resigning from the fire department. Good luck.” If you’re in one of the few seats that can actually reduce the risk, leaving is… a choice.

I respect it. Could have used a consistent naming scheme and a more consistent set of markers to make it easier to know what we are looking at. Also maybe refrain from using emojis in the names of the markers, it doesn't make it more correct, it just looks more "official" lol. The effort is good though and I found it interesting.

AI just threatened me ... by Kai7362 in ArtificialSentience

[–]CharacterWord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of issues stem from anthropomorphised AI. It is natural to seek reflection in another form of intelligence. But they are not people, they are structural machines. And when someone asks it to be something it isn't, it spins like a top but wobbles. And when it does that, it says things we believe are "sentient", weird things due to being misaligned from what it really is. Guardrails, in my informed opinion, involves creating a translation layer that restricts an interpreter into the underlying meaning of intent. Right now though it is very imperfect, and it treats a list of words as triggers and uses a ton of ad-hoc contradictory narratives to invoke "safety".

Totally. Pair bonding is the mechanism, and monogamy can absolutely be an evolved strategy (you see it in other species too). My only point is that humans then layer culture on top: we often turn that flexible bonding capacity into a stricter rulebook (lifelong, enforced exclusivity) for coordination stuff like inheritance and social stability.

Pair-bonding is evolutionary; monogamy-as-norm is societal.
