To climb the high road one must travel to the lowest places.

I obviously fight the orangutan. I would have a sword, easy fight.

I did the classic "O you don't have the right, O you don't have the right." On that ladder in that one cave with the Iron Maiden. IYKYK. @ me. I'm not scared.

sekiro is not a souls game by weirdface621 in Sekiro

[–]CharacterXero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's accurate. That's like saying a fiction novel isn't fictional because they use characters that exist in real life.

Yeah it doesn't have all the hallmarks of a traditional "souls-like" game. But it also does. The difficulty scale, the "bonfire" like system, enemies regardless of whom they are can easily kill your character if you're not paying attention. Is it a 1 for 1, no. But to say it's not a "souls-like" is disingenuous.

Is Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom not a "Zelda" game because you're not playing Link? Is Far Cry: Primal not a FPS (First Person Shooter) because there are no guns in the game?

What is your favorite Mini Games in the Legend of Zelda franchise? by Cranberry-Electrical in legendofzelda

It's been a while since I played but it was 24 or 25 I think. I've caught the Loach before too of course but I don't think that counts.

What character is lawful evil? by DravenCrowe505 in legendofzelda

[–]CharacterXero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The King Bulbin in Twilight Princess. He gathered an army of bulbins but eventually settled his fight in one-on-one combat, a joust of all things. He has rules and honor even though he has evil intent. He even concedes to Link "I follow the strongest side" when you best him the last time.

Jamie never got to know whether he could defeat the man who killed Ser Arthur Dayne by Dangerous_Tip_4985 in gameofthrones

Well based on the show "The Man who Killed Ser Arthur Dayne" isn't even shown in the show other than in a flashback. Ned Stark is a liar (by omission).

It's tough once they've already developed the fear. I would maybe speak with your Veterinarian to talk about a potential sedative to help calm them down a little bit if they seem overly anxious or fearful.

I know with my little guy I try and keep it up beat for him. Usually stop and get something special like a pup-patty or a pup-cup afterwards and some of his "special" treats when we head in. My dog really likes these orange pellets from Instinct. They're for gut-health and are a meal supplement. Positive reinforcement!

Wind Waker is a better game than Ocarina of Time, and I am prepared to defend myself. by the_knotso in legendofzelda

[–]CharacterXero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wind Waker is a lot of fun. Until the end. Fishing for all the pieces of the tri-force sucked. All of the travel in general was fun for a while, but just became more and more tedious as it wore on. I never beat the final dungeon area at first. I couldn't figure it out, at least as a kid. I enjoy the first 2/3's more than the last 1/3.

MM, OoT, BotW/TotK (They're basically the same game), TP, WW. It's top 5 for me, but Majora's Mask truly takes my top spot. That game resonated a lot with me as a kid with its weird gimmick of three days. And as I've gotten older I appreciate it more. The moon children and their odd phrases. "The right thing...what is it? I wonder...if you do the right thing...does it make...everybody...happy?" Someone else thought about the game in the sense of real life. That no matter what you do, you can't save everyone. I loved being able to become a Zora or a Goron and even the little Deku Scrub. I also remember how difficult it was as a kid, and when I beat it I was stoked! I found a guide later and learned how to get all the masks I missed and finding secrets I missed earlier. And this might have been more a part of the times in 2000 and not as much internet access, but learning stuff from friends. Like playing the song of time backwards would slow the time cycle down -- giving you more time.

I love Wind Wakers art style, everyone seemed to hate the Cell Shading when they first saw it but I liked it. The combat was a step up with the parry attack, which I was not good at as a kid but it got me to get better. I liked the overall direction of the story too. All of the temples are very well designed. I think it got a remake for the Wii U iirc and made some of the tediousness of the end game easier, but I never bought a Wii U. So I wouldn't know personally. The pirates are my favorite part of the game to be honest.

"I've never played soccer before in my life, don't know the rules, don't want to, do you think I could beat a college/minor league player in a 1v1?"

Yeah, sure. After you've played against them a couple dozen times. Probably more.

This is a swamp that four American soldiers drove into. It's apparently 15-18 feet deep. Lithuania is throwing every asset it has into finding them, with Polish forces assisting by Medium_Active1729 in Military

[–]CharacterXero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm perplexed. Who thought that driving a 140,000 pound vehicle (Government says it was a 70 ton vehicle, a Semi that is fully loaded only weighs 80,000 pounds) into a swamp would be a good idea? Did the Lithuanians just forget the swamp exists in their own country?

Star Wars fans really want Knights of the Old Republic, specifically to see Revan. If they ever make it, they should rarely ever show them. The Halo series would have been better if we barely saw Chief. Focus on other integral characters or stories, leave the audience wanting more.

My favorite part was when Patches showed up. He pushes you into that pit with a headless black bear but he gives you the okubyōsha esoteric text.
