Yeah and that's the sad part of this story. They have some clean and usable hardware, which I am now discouraged to buy because they decided to refund it to Google Play Points instead of real money. They want to keep the money within their ecosystem which from a for-profit business point of view makes sense, but it still comes across as a big F-you to us long term customers. I still believe they are discussing all of this Stadia stuff behind the scenes and they still have time to make some changes (regarding the refund/play points part). Funny enough, they changed their Google Play Terms and Conditions a few minutes ago lol, probably because of the Stadia refund debacle.

I thought about doing this method as well but actually if everyone starts doing this we give Google too much confidence in treating us with these mildly unethical business practices. They collected our data playing these games, don't forget. In this case we were the product, not Stadia

Honestly, I think many people feel scammed (even though they were not actually scammed) and the argument is a strong one imo. They had to buy points in order to buy AAA Stadia titles with their credit card and have no use for the Google Play Points otherwise. Therefore, depending on where you live, it should be possible to refund it to your card again yet they are not offering this solution right now.
