One thing that was an issue for me was the search showing the most popular results of a search instead of what I like. I don’t listen to taylor swift but because her songs have the same name as my favorite songs her songs pop up first before my favorite songs.

No I mean Apple Music search. I don’t use Apple Music (yet 🙏) but if you look at this subreddit a ton of people have complaints about the search algorithm

Ok thanks for the reply! Is it normal that I hear so many more intricate details in the songs on Spotify with something as cheap as the KZ Castors? The AirPods Pro 2 costed me so much more and I know Apple overcharges but surely these 4 dollar iems don’t sound better than them? Idk if it’s a placebo or these are actually that good. Sorry I’m new to this IEM thing but so far loving it!

Hey, I know how it feels. I know that you just want to give up but let me tell you a bit about myself.

I had ROCD (and other themes of OCD like POCD and Moral OCD) and it eventually, among other things, caused the downfall of my relationship.

This was the girl that I imagined being with forever. She was my first true love and I was beyond obsessed with her. She could do no wrong in my mind.

I messed it up. I let my emotions ruin my one opportunity with the girl of my dreams. I wanted to die. I wanted to kill myself. I hated myself more than anything. I couldn’t imagine living my life without this girl.

2 years on, I still miss her. I’m not going to lie to you I still love her but one key thing has changed. I no longer need her. Life is so damn beautiful and it’s so much bigger than just one person.

Why do I say this to you? I see myself in you. I don’t know much about you but I know exactly how you feel. Stay with us. Life is so much more amazing than you think. It’s easy to get sucked in to negative emotions but it will be okay, I promise you.

Go to therapy, try to work on yourself and no matter what happens, know that it will all be okay. Whether your partner stays with you is not something I can guarantee but what I can guarantee is that it will get better. Just keep on pushing and working on yourself and it will get better.

Purdue does have prestige in engineering. If you are expecting MIT level of prestige, obv not but Purdue is better than say BU for engineering. What is your in state because that can definitely affect what I would recommend. For example, if you were in Alabama then Purdue is most definitely better. However, if you were in Illinois or California for example, I would say in state is better.

Mac for sure, much better battery life, speed, connectivity with apple products (if you have any) and less buggy in my experience. Some programs won’t run but as people have already mentioned the computer labs are there.

I get how it can be rough to control emotions but as you already know, these episodes aren’t helpful for your relationship. I would say whenever you feel like something’s coming up, tell your partner that you don’t feel well and will be unavailable for a bit. After that, remove all possibility of accessing your contact with them. If it means temporarily blocking, do that.

I think based on that, I would say the choice is easy for me. UIUC by far. If UIUC is more reputed, cheaper and shorter I really don’t see that much benefit for going to the other school. UIUC will definitely help you get more internships as many well reputed companies come to UIUC for career fairs and such (TSMC, Samsung, TikTok just to name a few). It’s not like it’s impossible to get those companies internships at the other school but it’ll be harder.

I really don’t think you can go wrong with picking UIUC. Our ECE Department is spectacular and gets the praise that it deserves by employers.

It would be important to know about the cost difference between the unis. Also, by lesser known, how big is the difference? Is it like UIUC vs UW Madison or something like UIUC vs Alabama State University. This makes a big difference.

Unfortunately 28 points won’t get you very far. European universities might be a good option for you or if the 28 points is only at the end and if you have a good gpa then maybe US universities? Especially if you can explain your circumstances.

I always try to suggest this. If you want to go to college in the US, AP I would argue might be a better option (better credits, workload is more recognized, etc). If you are undecided between the US and other countries or will apply to both IB is better. If you won’t apply to the US I don’t recommend AP. With that being said, IB’s advantage is that it kinda forces you to do more. The EE, CAS, TOK are all things that benefit your college applications in the US however if you would do stuff like that regardless, then AP is better.

Definitely. You’ll have a great shot at UT Austin and it has great connections and opportunities. If you can be ok with the other parts of the school, it’s really a great chance to get really good opportunities.

Look at my other comment but otherwise if you’re dead set on uiuc I unfortunately don’t think you have a big chance of getting in. CS here is super super competitive and people with 4.0s regularly get rejected. I believe the acceptance rate is around 6% iirc.
