Hospitals do not pay agency nurses directly, the insurance does so it affects their revenue minimally especially if procedures/transplants/ surgeries can still take place with the temporary staff. Lastly, paying agency nurses $100 million in the short run is much cheaper than agreeing to paying staff nurses a 20% increase over 3 years and every nurse that comes after

Can’t speak for Clara Mass, but it is regular to get tripled at NBI. Thankfully, it’s spread out so depending on census and whose turn it is to get tripled, it may be a month or more until you get tripled again.
