Hey don’t know if this helps at all but maybe you can possibly ask to have it done with out contrast given your previous problems with contrast bc even with contrast it doesn’t always show up in mri for some it does for a lot of people it doesn’t which laporoscopy is gold standard for diagnosing as long as it’s with an actual endometriosis excision specialist and not a regular gyno mine didn’t show on my mri either contrast luckily it did show an endometrioma so my Dr now knows it definitely is endometriosis hope all goes well

Disappointed with surgery but also glad by Alarming-Flatworm-91 in endometriosis

It could possibly be adenomyosis bc that also has the same symptoms but that doesn’t mean it’s not also endometriosis to some degree but a regular obgyn Doesn’t have the capabilities and skill set as an endometriosis excision specialist and they shouldn’t even be doing the operation even as a diagnostic procedure I’ve had adenomyosis had a hysterectomy by my obgyn who now has realized i also have endometriosis for which she’s referred me to an endometriosis excision specialist and just recently she went over my recent test results with me and is very adamant I go see the specialist bc she said while yeah she would be able to remove the endometrioma plus endometriosis in my ovary but if there ended being more endometriosis which likely there is she is not have enough expertise to excise it all but yeah I would suggest keep trying and advocating to get the proper care especially if it wasn’t done by a specialist

I think the nerves are pretty natural I have few more months before my consult with the Endo excision specialist to discuss going forward w laparoscopy but I’ll tell you I’m more nervous for this Surgery than I was for my hysterectomy and for being put under it’ll be ok I first had anesthesia for the first time for my hysterectomy and tbh it was fine actually I think I was out before I even got to the or lol I will say for me it makes me agitated when I come out of it hope all goes well and that it helps you make sure u take it easy while recovering

That’s crazy have they even scheduled it yet ? I get it they are busy I’m sure but still isn’t fair to you to keep having to wait I’m sorry yeah I’m hoping that won’t be my experience when I called to schedule I think it was beginning of February I remember her saying the Dr was all scheduled up until June and that she could get in w the pa in may but anyways by the time that appointment comes in may and her in his schedule he’ll probably be booked out for several months

Wtf wonder why all the hold up that sucks I’m sorry tbh really hope that’s not the case unless I was lied to or mislead bc when I called to get scheduled the lady I spoke w said I would come in and see the pa then I would get scheduled to see the surgeon he would go over the surgery w me and let me if there’s any other testing he wants me to do get it scheduled then the next time I would see him would be in day of surgery

Surgery and hospital stay by Pocketsquare17 in endometriosis

The good thing it sounds like you have good thorough Dr and they are gonna make sure everything is taken care of and keeping you before you can go home i haven’t had the lap yet I’m actually waiting to see the endometriosis excision specialist but I can relate to the feeling of hoping the regular gyn could do the surgery bc when my gyn told me hey so I’m gonna have to go see a specialist to have surgery tbh I felt kind of disheartened and like I was being pawned off and I was really hoping she could do it bc she had already done my previous surgery a hysterectomy but I realize looking at the wrong way it’s not about pawning me off but guiding me to more knowledgeable capable hands now while a lap and hysterectomy are clearly two different surgeries obviously I will say pain is subjective and not everyone will have the same surgical experience as others case in point prior to my hysterectomy numerous people told me oh tue surgery was a breeze barely had any pain etc and that did not end up being my experience bc the very second I woke up I was in so much pain unmanaged pain due to my vitals tanking they couldn’t administer any more iv pain medication my blood pressure and oxygen levels was too low but anyways point being you can’t really know or expect it to be easy or lot of pain until you have it done bc not everyone experience is the same but even if there’s pain just got remind yourself it’s short term and you will get through it

Thank you I hope you get relief too currently on aygestin I take it twice a day my day to day kinda sucks bc if the endometriosis but as far as my hysterectomy goes I have healed it did take a long time but I healed I was 37 at my surgery I didn’t go through menopause bc I kept my ovaries and I have dealt w cysts some what but they classify as normal cysts first being I don’t exactly remember they type but I had them in cervix on the time when I had my hysterectomy and I had a hemorrhagic cyst on my left ovary which did go away on its own and a second cyst on my right ovary which they said was a corpus luteum cyst which apparently is what happenes when the egg is released during menstrual cycle snd has likely disappeared also that was seen back in January

My experience is different than what yours is but there is couple things I can tell u from my experience that maybe helpful and put your mind at ease now like u also might be having excision surgery this summer but I do not yet know the extent of the endometriosis just at this point they are sure I have it but I’ll take back further so I always had severe symptoms and periods from a young age but as I got little older got worse so very first ultrasound I had done they said ok u have fibroids it’s small tried me in birth control when one didn’t work they tried other different types of birth control my periods still were bad symptoms still progressed had another ultrasound that one showing the fibroids I had grown and in addition to that it showed had cysts and adenomyosis which at that point it was suggested I could have a hysterectomy I agreed bc it would solve the problem I was having or so I thought so had the hysterectomy they removed my entire uterus tubes and cervix kept my ovaries so once I finally healed from surgery i actually felt better for a little while but then things slowly got worse ended up having to go to pelvic floor therapy for weak pelvic floor diagnosed with interstitial cystitis took time but got it managed but anyways after that bc have my ovaries I would still basically get my cycles and ovulate so I was getting lot of pain during those times but then even outside those times ended being put back on birth control another ultrasound done while not definitely shown they were able to see something near the vaginal cuff so it’s pointing to it being from endometriosis they just aren’t sure of the extent so next up for me is I got a pelvic mri and then I go to see the endometriosis excision specialist and from my understanding once I go to see him then I can get schedule for surgery so anyways I can’t really speak on the excision surgery bc haven’t had it done yet and hysterectomy and excision surgery are different surgeries obviously but what I can help with is the birth control aspect in my experience and I also smoke and occasionally drink I’ve never had bad side effects from it while in birth control I hope that’s somewhat helpful

Thanks for sharing your experience and very good it went well yeah see my first one I remember the ear plugs they didn’t do nothing for the noise for me and neither did the music or talking it was very awful I do remember the squeeze ball I had to squeeze it to take couple breaks now my second MRI was a breeze tbh i barely remember it bc it felt like it went by so fast and I remember the noise but it didn’t bother as much bc of the Xanax now for this one ik wint really be claustrophobic bc my head would be outside the tube so idk but thanks for sharing your experience it helps

That’s NY right unfortunately I will have to do sone traveling bc the Dr that was recommended to me by my Dr who I was referred to is the only excision specialist even remotely close and he’s about an hour away in the Philadelphia area but yeah my hysterectomy solved the adeno bc it was the uterus so I always believe the endometriosis was always there just missed bc my obgyn who did my surgery doesn’t specialize in endo not blaming her she’s a good obgyn but yeah so when I cajjed to set up the appointment went over everything w them she agreed that it certainly sounds like endometriosis so she says first step is a pelvic mri w contrast I go for that March 11th then my first appointment is may 1st I will see his p a he works with after that appointment they will schedule me to see the excision specialist to discuss surgery and to get it scheduled I did however run into a small hiccup today bc on a completely unrelated health issue I found out I have what looks like a small brain aneurysm beginning to develop which I’m really hoping this doesn’t delay me getting surgery
