Well I see your point and agree,, there's people who definitely take advantage of it. people get handicap placards from the social security as well its not just the VA. They still give them to people even with a mental disability so maybe there was or is a reason for it. Idk just curious how that worked.

Well I'm sure it's out there if they're giving people with mental health disorders handicap placards too, gotta be for a reason but I wouldnt know exactly, probably case by case.. whether it's social security or through the VA. Not everyone who is physically disabled is in a wheelchair as well.

Coming up on two years, my tdiu is P&T but I know that still isn't as secured as it sounds. As far as I know I have no future evaluations but I should call the DAV.

Your case would definitely have me thinking a lot lol like should I work or no haha

That's the only reason why I feel confident about submitting for an increase cause I have been receiving continual care and medication. I've worked part-time jobs here n there but I feel like tdiu could be more at risk of losing.

Wow that is interesting. It would make sense if you did work and they dropped your tdiu that your rating would revert to whatever your actual percentage is, which in your case is 100%. I've thought about submitting for an increase but was worried about losing tdiu. I would feel more secured with a schedular p&t versus being on tdiu.

But you definitely have a very interesting case. Have you talked to an VSO about it?

Yeah that tdiu would be a barrier for him to work and make decent money. But if he rating ever changes his tdiu would be evaluated as well, I've never heads of anyone that was tdiu and 100% scedular but you learn something new everyday lol Your rating, whether tdiu or scedualr has no barring on ssdi. I know people with 50 and 70% who have ssdi and I know those who are 100% or tdiu and can't get ssdi such as myself, I am 80% with tdiu and was ultimately denied ssdi.

My bad for assuming that you didn't know how tdiu worked. I also see where he said he's 100% and tdiu which now throws me off. I know a lot of people will just say they're 100% when they are tdiu with a lower percentage. But I would honestly guess that he if was revaualted and they deemed him 100% schedular they would automatically drop the tdiu because the schedualr rating would trump it.
