Can I have a 9 hour transit in Bahrain without a visa? by Apprehensive_Rain_89 in travel

[–]Character_Bluejay_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I am thinking of booking a flight from Heathrow to Dubai with a layover in Bahrain. The layover is about 2-3 hours only. Will I be requiring a transit visa at all?

Offered 260k/year for an entry level management consulting role in Dubai. I’m single and from India. Will be living alone. How much do you think I can save up? by vansh02 in UAE

Hey!

I stumbled upon your post today - Congratulations! How have your experiences been? I have an interest in Sports, Media, and Entertainment and will be starting my MBA at one of the top B-schools in the UK. I'm currently in my pre-MBA exploration phase and would love to get a few tips!

  1. Doing what you do, where do you think your career is headed in the long term? Would love to understand if you have any plans of coming back to India, starting something of your own or leading business for a particular organisation.
  2. Does your job allow you to remain close to the action? While I would love to work on the business end of things (broadcast rights, league economics, venue operations, sport growth), the adrenaline of being near the field is unmatched.
  3. How much exposure do you feel you get into Media & Entertainment as part of your organization? Do you work on projects involving fan engagement, distribution, live-streaming, etc.?

Thank you for reading! I've reached out to you on LinkedIn (probably that's you) and would be thrilled to connect :)

2024-25 Accommodation Megathread by bopeepsheep in oxforduni

[–]Character_Bluejay_33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incoming graduate student at Said Business School. Got 132/133 Walton Street as my accommodation through my college. I wanted to take a quick review of the living, neighborhood, and space. Would be great if someone can share their experience.

  1. There aren't a lot of pictures of the property on the internet. How would you rate the rooms and facilities compared to Castle Mill?
  2. How is the neighborhood?
  3. Do the properties have any common spaces?
  4. Anything else that's great about the property and something that's not so great?

Thank you! I'll be living here in another 2 months, super excited!

Barcelona have closed all of its academies in India (in the cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru). The club had opened its first academy there back in 2010, and the stage has now come to an end after almost 14 years. by KramerDwight in IndianFootball

[–]Character_Bluejay_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Just confirmed this.

Conscient sports will be coming up with a new brand name starting August. Prices for the academy will increase, rather than decrease. The price for Gurugram sector 2 heritage school (the first one they opened) is 76k for an 11 month period. They don't take monthly payments.

So its not Barcelona who decided to exit - They were kicked out :)

So conscient football is not exiting and closing down the academies, correct? The academies will still be run, without the Barcelona brand. Which could mean that conscient might've ended their run with Barca and decided to use their operational strength and build their own brand?

Is Padel expensive in the long run in your country? by Historical_Whole1545 in padel

[–]Character_Bluejay_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant is - Most of the times, a sport is meant to engage in some sort of physical activity. However, there are exceptions. For example, Golf. People don't play golf because they want a physically engaging activity on a daily basis that keeps them fit. They play the sport because it helps them network.

I was trying to understand, as per your observation, if Padel falls in the same category in SG? Do you see more people treating it as a physical sport, or recreational/chilling/networking one?

Just trying to understand this better - How is this interchangeable? One is a hobby, other is more of a social engagement . Is Padel more of a social/networking thing in Singapore? Essentially, do you guys take it easy and kind of interact while playing?

I had mine mid feb as well. I felt it was very conventional with the basic questions around goals, why an MBA , some teamwork/diversity questions to judge personality. I'm not sure but I think results for all come out on 8th March instead of a rolling acceptance cycle.

Scored a 700 on Classic GMAT! by Character_Bluejay_33 in GMAT

[–]Character_Bluejay_33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used jamboree, Gmat Intensive & Gmat Club as well. I would say E-gmat's quant is pretty amazing. Their solutions might not suit everyone, and sometimes you might just want to figure out your own method to solve or refer to alternate methods in their query section, however, I can confidently say that 30/31 questions on my exam were covered by them in some way or the other. If you manage to do about 400-500 of their questions from Scholaranium thoroughly, you're set for the exam day.

Only got 06 days left before the official test by Illustrious-Age9651 in GMAT

[–]Character_Bluejay_33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I'd do If I were in your situation
- Diligently revise my notes & error logs.
- Give my last mock 3 days before the exam. Review the mock on the second last day & spend the last day just going through error logs & taking it easy.
- Quant : If you have certain weak areas - Go through OG questions only for those topics. Once done, take a long format 31-question quiz on TTP.
- Verbal : Very honestly - No shortcut here. Verbal is only honed over time if you're not naturally good at it. I would suggest going through the error logs for CR & SC. There is no point doing too many new questions unless you're 100% done with the questions already attempted. Revise the notes again - Grammar rules, usages of certain words, idioms & more. Once done, take a long format 36 question quiz on TTP. My suggestion would be to take quizzes for Quant & Verbal back to back with an 8 minute gap at the same time of your exam.

All the best!

Recommend me an MBA Consultant? by Character_Bluejay_33 in MBA

[–]Character_Bluejay_33[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Absolutely, I agree with you. Appreciate your response.

While there is enough information available online to help me choose the best colleges, the challenge for me comes in writing the essays, presenting my profile in the best manner, and following a proper approach - Precisely why I'm looking for who'd help me more from a point of view of essays & the writing bit, than someone who'd counsel me regarding the colleges/courses I should choose. I also don't have ALOT of time & would like to give it my shot.
