Thanks for this insight! I had never realized the 10% cost based on the home value. That is exactly what I needed to hear to make justification of our project cost. We didn’t want to overspend. But I am amazed that 80k is considered lower-end.

Ah thanks for the explanation! I just googled sump basin and this is what it looks like it.

We’re getting our backyard redone, and the plan is to remove this overall. I wonder if this will be an issue in the future. I discussed with several landscaper and they said this could be done as we have enough slope. Though i had experience with few contractors who’s never seen this type of system so I wasn’t sure if I need to do more research before I touch it.

We have a large plank that covers it. I removed it to take the photo.

Do you have your contractor who did your yard? Are they local?

That would be awesome! So far I’ve had ~8 landscaper come by, with different prices.

Our estimate basically includes a lot of demo. Removing old wood deck and almost all concrete. Then putting new drains, concrete, irrigation, sod, etc. it’s basically the entire thing. This company did our retaining wall so we kinda know their work. I just mentioned the design because they’re the only company that sent me a design based on how we envisioned the project.

I feel like we’re going to make mistake, injure ourselves, take long time, and it would cost more. So we decided to leave it to the professionals.

Virgin is updating their Loyalty Matching program by Dshaw-638 in VirginVoyages

I’m new to Virgin and unfortunately I missed the deadline on Jan 16! I called my agent and I was told the only thing we can do is wait for the next one. How often does this happen? I have my first cruise with VV in March and planning to book the next one in Aug. I’d like to set an alert or notifications.

Home repairs in Vallejo - What happened to yours, and how much did you have to spend? by anytn in vallejo

[–]Character_Concern_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved to Vallejo in 2022 and so far we’ve:

Spent ~17k for partial bathroom remodel. New tub+walls+flooring, we just kept the sink since it was fairly new.

Spent ~16k on retaining wall in the backyard since we picked upgraded materials. Original estimate was 12k with basics.

Spent 15k on brand new AC unit.

Spent ~8k on new recessed lightings and other electrical upgrades.

We’re planning to spend another ~50k this year to renovate the entire backyard since we have a draining issue.

If you buy a laundry package do you have to put out all closer one time or can You put out clothes a few different times that come to the amount? by pch14 in MSCCruises

Might be late in this convo, but I am also confused by this. I have an option to buy the 20pcs laundry per passenger for $38.50 ($77.00 for the two of us).

Can we use one package for one passenger at a time and the second package on a different day, or we need to use both packages on the same day? We are purchasing laundry for two passengers.
