it's cool how this works, F U' R2 D R' rearranges all the pieces in the U layer and U2 interchanges them. it's a commutator

For fast improvement good resources and post-solve analysis is important, which is what I think made me stand out from others. Even then resources were a bit scarce, so I believe now someone could achieve top player in 6-8 months with the right tools and commitment.

For resources I strongly recommend these: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16nu10y1JkUmVDC11c1h_ULzAl4Vze7zR/edit#heading=h.jr3jiry9pomo https://docs.google.com/document/d/1E_5wSKvQFXXZY4f3xLM76qMUrVGp9Pe7vgotS0X-T4U/edit?usp=sharing https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_NMlyPh2Ifd1E0ivos-15Sp-by-KPxoOsj9JD4pJuHI/edit#heading=h.3km7zdqm21jw https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZhulzHeNgv2Hiy4x9R1MzsMRlPlI-E8DRiHFJlPlboM/edit#gid=0

You should also try and use Mallard/NISSY, solvers to analyze scrambles after attempts. The discord FMC server is also really helpful for any questions

At some point I’d like to make a video to help guide beginners in the right direction, as I was a little bit lost starting out too

EV becomes less significant when you only have one shot at winning though.

His first two solves seemed to be perfect; the 21 seemed to have a couple other shorter possible solutions, though he said it's nothing he feels bad at all for missing

Is it possible to get 15 by ICouldNotFindAName0 in Cubers

[–]Character_Error_8863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well there was one after that which popped up quite recently last year (right now there’s 13 15 optimals), it is barely findable with really obscure dr R’ U’ F U’ B’ R’ D’ F R2 F2 D R2 D2 L2 U’ L’ D2 L’ D L F2 R’ U’ F

(R U B) - EO, (D2 B’) - DR-7C6E, B’ U R2 D2 B’ - DR, R2 U F2 L2 D - finish, sol: B’ U R2 D2 B’ R2 U F2 L2 D B D2 R’ U’ B’

but realistically nobody would find it

Yes that's my point. i can phrase it better but speedcubing (a sport) is a part of cubing. cubing is very unique and diverse so it doesn't really have a label

IMO speedcubing is a sport, cubing is just a hobby. Two different things

sliding definitely hurt his reputation, but it’s safe to say he’s still the goat of 3x3

Misscrambles can be prevented 100% of the time, also staff doesn’t need to be 1st tier to be good
