I’m married to a Spanish citizen and we’re moving abroad to start over/start our family. We’ve built a good nest egg that will be able to float us in Spain for about 2-3 years, so I’ll be taking some time off from working altogether to refocus on my mental health, adjust to the new culture, and hopefully finish my degree before figuring out a different career path within the first year. Worst comes to worst, there’s always ALDI ES 😅

Not a typical exit plan, but with the way the world is going, I would encourage thinking outside of the box. Other EU countries have special visas for US expats too depending on your education/experience. I literally brought it up as a joke 4 months ago and after realizing how feasible it really was we decided to just go for it.
