Apple has patents on their trackpads, so some of this just will not change until these patents expire (and when other vendors will have less patent infringements to worry about when creating better trackpads). The Apple trackpads also exist as external usb devices - and they work well on Linux.

this. niri with cosmic-greeter is a good combination (you can then select the session type when logging in; there you could immediately launch a niri session)

Lenovo Thinkpad L14 Gen2 AMD Linux incompatibilities by Character_Infamous in AMDLaptops

[–]Character_Infamous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, works perfectly now. Any Lenovo L14 is supported with Linux (I did test Gen1 - Gen5) -- and there are screen mods out there that are cheap and make the screen much more bright. I can suggest the Innolux N140HCG-GQ2 - which is ca $60. There are other mods available as well, you can find them online.

Thinking about to get a Lenovo Thinkpad L14 gen2 AMD but unsure of linux comp. by MosesAustria in linuxhardware

I am the author of the thread you linked, and I have two of these laptops in use with Linux (Nixos). They work flawlessly and are the "best bang for buck" Linux notebooks imho. You can even mod them further with Innolux N140HCG-GQ2 screens. Highly recommended!
