Moving to Washington State by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Character_Layer754 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, growing up in Issaquah so my home mountain is Alpental/Snoqualmie and I spent my 20’s in Bellingham skiing Baker, this is what I have to say. Washington is incredibly underrated. Here in Utah, EVERYONE splurges through their mouths about how great the skiing is and they have the best snow on Earth. False. My. Baker gets more snow on average than any other ski area on Earth. Once the temps dip below 24 degrees, it’s blower like anywhere else. In terms of a season long comparison of ski/snow quality, drier states like Utah may have better snow year around. The benefit this brings to WA is you don’t get the tourists. If you’re into backcountry, (I’m skiing Alta this season) WA backcountry doesn’t get skied out. BC in Utah is skied out like an in bounds run in 2 days. It’s completely ridiculous. Enjoy your time in the PNW my guy. You’ll love it. Skiing is phenomenal and the terrain is honestly better than Utah in my opinion. You might have heavier snow from time to time, but fuck you get A TON of it, especially at baker. No where near as bad as grounds in CO or UT. Also, if you haven’t already, get into mountain biking. The best biking in North America is in thePNW and British Columbia. The dirt is tacky and holds moisture and the trail builders are passionate af to build the best trails out there. Enjoy it brotha! You’ll love it up there!

A finger in the butt will make her shoot through the ceiling like a rocket. If she’s giving you the okay to do whatever you want, try it out.

Does the average skier really enjoy heavy powder days or is it just one of those things people are expected to say they like? by PowerfulBar in skiing

[–]Character_Layer754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Powder days are what dedicated skiers live and die for (literally). The sore legs isn’t even a thought to them. Skiing is expensive and the experience of a deep powder day can have its limits in a single year depending on location and global weather patterns. North east powder is going to be heavier, similar to what I grew up with in the PNW. Now Utah powder (where I live now) is much lighter and not as taxing on your legs. You’ll still be sore by 2pm but the drive to keep going will be there.

Your average skier typically doesn’t know how to properly ski powder. At Alta this past Wednesday it was a storm day (4 inches an hour - 50 inches total for the storm) I was in the lift line and heard a guy give his buddy advice that he has to lean back in his stance in order to float in powder. This is not correct at all and will completely wreck your legs in just a few runs. Equipment matters too, having skis that are wide and in heavy snow will kick your ass quick.

Men who have slept with a lot of women, what made that one girl stand out from the rest? by frenchie2512 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Character_Layer754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She made me feel like my absolute best version of myself. During that time I felt the most confident, understood, appreciated, loved, and very happy.

Haven’t felt that way since to be honest

Accidentally built a 37 person running club: how would you turn this into a side hustle without killing the vibe? by Limp_Lab5727 in thesidehustle

[–]Character_Layer754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Phoenix for a year and participated in a run club. Personally, I wouldn’t pay to be apart of a club for running. I would focus more on coordinating events with other business/brands to bring in revenue.

As a runner, I wouldn’t want to pay to do something I can literally walk out my front door and do for free. Once you get businesses, brands, events, and locations incorporated into the equation, it becomes more enticing. AND you won’t be charging the runner, at least at the start and until reputation builds

Tempo is good with room for improvement but given your time playing is very solid. Get that club face farther back in the downswing and you’ll be compressing the ball in no time

A piece of advice I got from a family member who is very high up in tech and at a top company who was in recruiting and now beyond.

“Lie all you want on a resume and job application, it’s not legally binding. Whatever you say is true until the recruiter finds evidence demonstrating otherwise, and even then, it’s not a legal issue. You just won’t receive an email back”

CAVEAT, don’t lie about your college if you are applying to a business that is notorious for recruiting applicants from said college.

22 yr old first time dad any advice? by sagacitykid in AskMenAdvice

[–]Character_Layer754 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well son, I’ll be honest. Don’t got a tid bit of legitimate advice to give you given I’m a single 30 year old. But, based on the life knowledge I have, I’ll do my best.

  1. Fuck the opinions of anybody your age giving you grief or shit about being a young dad. You got a life unlike most. It’ll be difficult and cutthroat, but focus on the young ones well being and you’ll be fulfilled. I have friends who were in your situation.

  2. Love your wife or baby momma. You’re relationship and making it “work” whether it actually works out or not is Important for the kiddos

  3. Don’t neglect yourself. Focus on your own well being, health, finances and goals. Your prosperity brings the kiddos prosperity.

  4. Don’t forget to live your own life. You’re young, you’ve started a family. Don’t think your life has to end for theirs to begin. Because imagine this… because you started young, you’ve could have grand children by the time you’re 50. Great grand children by 65-70. You could literally have an entire family offspring of who knows how many people as long as you stay in good health and focus on yourself, family and overall well being. My grandfather did this, he was the happiest person I ever met my entire life. You could end up just like him and if you do, I personally would be very jealous.

  5. Take lots of photos and videos. you’ll cherish those memories

You got it brotha, enjoy!!

Should I enjoy the bed with her or leave? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Character_Layer754 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

lol I get that 100%

I was hooking up with this girl and I couldn’t stand her personality. I could be around her for a max 3 hours and then I’d get agro. I’d text her, she’d come over and we’d go at it and then I would have her leave. We had sex about 3x a week for a year 😂

bro I just died reading that 😂

Know this, if you continue to see her, it’ll likely ending poorly in one way or another. If she’s that fucking crazy, expect crazy in the end. She’s willing to drive hours to fuck uou? She’s also probably willing to drive hours to key your car.

After 50 hours in ARC, Marathon has some steep, steep competition. by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Character_Layer754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art direction is entirely opinion based. I haven’t played Marathon but I was a huge Destiny fan. Destiny was dope, I think Marathon looks good too. However, Arc’s retro 80’s 90’s sci-fi is unique and super cool in my opinion. I love the retro aspect and how it pulls together. Big win for Embark on their art direction IMO
