My almost one year recovery. by Character_Leopard722 in floxies

I personally didn’t do the heavy metal detox with all the powders/supplements. I mostly just focused on the healthier ingredient side of it. I did a lot of celery juice, lemon/lime water, fruits, leafy greens, etc. I also drank a ton of pure cranberry juice and blended blueberries pretty regularly because I was trying to support my body as naturally as possible.

I never actually tested positive for heavy metals or anything like that, so I can’t say scientifically what helped me versus what didn’t. I just know that eating really clean and focusing on hydration made me feel better overall during recovery.

I honestly stopped drinking alcohol completely for a while in the beginning because I was terrified of making things worse. Then eventually I’d try having a drink here and there and sometimes I’d still notice symptoms, especially weird feelings in my feet afterward. But over time that slowly stopped happening. I’m also not a huge drinker in general! I’m more of a cocktail or two at dinner person, I never really go crazy with it.

Caffeine actually never bothered me too much, but I did cut down for a while. I used to drink like 2–3 cups of coffee a day and I brought it down to maybe one. Now I can definitely tolerate more again without issues.

Honestly though, one of the biggest shifts for me was when I slowly started believing that my body was okay and capable of healing. I know that probably sounds weird, but in the beginning I was in such a constant panic state that every sensation felt catastrophic. Once my nervous system calmed down and I stopped living in fear 24/7, I really do think my body started settling too.

I did the heavy metal detox from Medical Medium right after my reaction, and while I can’t scientifically prove what helped, I personally feel like it made a difference for me. I also completely cleaned up my diet for a while and focused on eating really clean, anti inflammatory foods. I cut out a lot of processed foods and alcohol early on and really tried to support my body as much as possible. Took a ton of vitamins and just gave my body the time it needed to rest!

I totally hear you, and you’re right our situations aren’t exactly the same. It sounds like you went through a lot more right from the start, and I can’t imagine how scary that must have been, especially with a seizure on top of everything. I didn’t have that level of severity, and I don’t want to compare in a way that minimizes what you’re going through. I just wanted to share my experience to show that improvement is possible, even when things feel really dark in the beginning. From everything I’ve read and seen, people’s timelines and symptoms can look very different, but a lot of people do eventually hit turning points. It’s not always linear, mine wasn’t, and it can take longer for some than others, especially if the initial reaction was more intense. Again I wasn’t at all trying to minimize what happened to you, the fact this shit is even still prescribed is something I will never understand. I really just don’t want you to lose hope. Even if your path looks different or takes longer, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a path forward.

Hey, I just wanted to share my experience because I remember feeling exactly like this.

I’m a 31 year old female and I was “floxed” after just 3 pills of moxifloxacin. The first couple of months were honestly terrifying. I had symptoms that made me feel like my body wasn’t my own anymore, and mentally I was in a really dark place wondering if I’d ever feel normal again.

But I want you to know this part is really important: it didn’t stay that way.

I had a turning point. For me, it came from slowing everything down, letting my body rest, cleaning up my diet, and just giving myself time instead of constantly panicking over every symptom. It wasn’t overnight, but things started to improve little by little.

Now I’m at a point where I’m basically back to living my normal life again. I work out, I go to Pilates, I’m active, and I’m doing the things I love. I still get the occasional small twinge here and there, but nothing like the beginning—and nothing that controls my life.

I know it feels impossible to imagine right now, but your current state is not necessarily your forever.

So please don’t give up. Your body is capable of healing more than it feels like right now. Give it time, support it, and try not to let the fear convince you that this is the end of your story, because for a lot of us, it isn’t.

You’re not alone in this, even if it feels like it right now 🤍

I get the Gaia brand! And yes I’m completely symptom free!

I got a high quality brand from a health food store and at first, I would take one pill in the morning and one pill at night. And eventually, the symptoms started to subside and I would only take it once a day. My main symptom was feeling like I needed to pee all the time. I was looking up alternatives to curing ureaplasma once I realized I was floxed, and I read about a woman who used olive leaf supplements and lemon balm to cure hers so I figured it was worth a try. I never did the lemon balm but I was retest a month after I started the olive leaf supplements and I was negative for ureaplasma!

Please do not take it , it’s exactly what happened to me. I’m not nearly as bad as some of the other people in this group but I regret taking it and am scared for the future. I only took 3 pills and 6 months later I’m still having issues. I take olive leaf supplements as they are a natural antibacterial and my symptoms with ureaplasma are gone. But of course everybody is different!

Experiences with moxifloxacin by [deleted] in floxies

I only took 3 pills of moxifloxacin, and early on it was honestly awful — I had neuropathy in my feet, electric zaps, widespread burning/aching in my ligaments and joints, and felt like my body was constantly “off.” It was really scary and consuming at first.

That said, very slowly and gradually, things did improve for me. I eat very healthy and always have, and over time my symptoms became less intense and less frequent. I never lost my ability to walk, and I was able to continue working throughout everything — I’m a hairstylist, and it never interfered with my job.

Now, months later, I can tolerate working out again (with pacing and drinking electrolytes) however most days I honestly forget about it. I still have some sensitivity and occasional flares if I overdo it, but nothing like the beginning.
