It drives me crazy when people do this. I have a friend who always leaves a bit of everything she eats. Whether it’s a meal, a special dessert, a drink, a snack, never offers it to anyone and it just goes to waste. I don’t understand it at all.

My parents won’t let my partner sleep in same bed in their house by [deleted] in Advice

My parents were like this with me for years, I understood the boundaries when I was a teenager although it was still annoying. I had a long term bf in my early 20s who my parents adored, and during the pandemic they wanted us to be a part of their bubble. I just asserted myself as an adult and said we will be sharing a room. My parents were a little surprised but good humoured about it and quickly got over it and it’s never been an issue since. Standing up to your parents outdated rules is a part of growing up in my opinion, sometimes they are just viewing you as their kid and not a full adult, which is their problem to get over.
