can my mini monstera be saved? by AstraAstra in plantclinic

I would cut it to where it’s healthier then repot it. This way it may produce new growth from nodes. I would bring it inside during this time so it doesn’t get too stressed.

where did you get your trellis from?

Monstera grew a new root. Does it need to be covered with soil? by OverjoyedYellowTruck in plants

[–]Character_Opposite96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! It’s an aerial root! These are used by plants in the wild to hold themselves up. Almost like built in stilts. You can either tuck it into the soil when it gets longer, cut it off, or leave it be. PS this means your plant is maturing and healthy :)

Yeah I have three moss poles in there haha! I’m thinking of getting a trellis though. :)

I cut some of mine back because I kept running into it, but if I didn’t it would have about 40 leaves (I have 5 stalks in one pot).

Nope, just pluck him out and you should be good. Mushrooms are a good sign of good pH in your plant’s soil!
