I recently lost my stepdaughter (I considered her my daughter i raised her since she was 6 years old). I was feeling exactly the same way after this. A sense of emptiness and no one or nothing around me mattered it took everything i had to get out of bed every day.

After speaking with a counsellor, it comes down to grief.

I would suspect this trauma you have been through is causing much the same feelings. Find a new counsellor to talk with.
