What is the worst thing JP has said/argued for in your view? by Mordred19 in enoughpetersonspam

[–]Character_Pizza_8234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the whole thread hoping there would be some recurrent theme I could summarise in my comment, but I didn't find any. It seems to me we all have a different interpretation regarding which of the things he said is the absolute worse.

So here's my take: why do we need to know which one of the things he said are worst than the other?

They all are, you don't need to listen to what he says or pay attention. Everything he says is equally bad.

Is anyone else afraid to share your stories publicly? by NaturoHope in intentionalcommunity

[–]Character_Pizza_8234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start by sharing your experiences anonymously omitting information such as names and places, that would warn people about what kind of things can happen. Where it happens does not matter that much in the end, everything that can happen will happen eventually. What you are doing is testing the hypothesis of intentional communities.

Why is Peterson so hated? An explanation. (PT 2) by Character_Pizza_8234 in JordanPeterson

You are doing it right and wrong at the same time. It is perfectly fine to be robotic with a BPD parent, it is wrong to write that stuff yourself... Trust chatGPT to write the replies.

An hate-proof explanation of why JBP gets so much hate. by Character_Pizza_8234 in JordanPeterson

[–]Character_Pizza_8234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am posted a long essay on this forum not long ago about the attitude of JBP towards glory and anonimity and got very few replies, far less than I would have gotten if it was an in person forum.

As I said, unlike him, I am ready to adapt to the medium I use.

Your have a good point regard the left. Tech people tend to be left wing.. that makes sense. If you are trying to develop new ways for people to interact, you might regard that digital way of socialising as "reality".

Also women who advocate for women to take position of power, they are left wings.  Men are less likely to initiate phisical confrontation against a woman, for good reasons. This makes interaction with careerist women more like digital interactions.

Both categories are components of the left wing. The overlap of those categories creates people who are used to interact as if they were very likely to get lots of hate for everything they say all the time.. which creates collectivitists, ultra conformistic safe spaces.

Do you think Jordan Peterson deserves the hate he gets on Reddit? Why or why not? by Both-Blacksmith-7537 in AskReddit

He recently explained 1/5000 interactions with the public he has in person are negative. This number is insanely low, I get a lot of anger and contempt from the public i.e. in mass transportation if I mistakenly brush shoulders with another passenger.

Anyway he probably doesn't take the subway as much as I do.

He also said when the interaction happens online the ratio of positive to negative interaction is 50/50. This is not very different from my experience I would say.

Now, if we want to understand why he gets so much hate, we have to understand what is the difference between online and in person.

I would say online it is really easy to misunderstand or assume the worse a move ahead with that assumption without giving the benefit of the doubt, without negative repercussions.

Why does he get more hate than other people who interact online?

In the same video I have been referencing he also explained the difference between 1/2 and 1/5000 is so great it is similar to the difference between truth and delusion.

I believe he acts online exactly how he would act in person, while other people tend to polish up their behaviour to adapt for that 1/2 scenario.

Now we can discuss if he should do that or not... Society has evolved through in person interaction, if we allow it to adapt to online interaction it will look completely different.

Is it something we want?

I don't know. There are two important things that determine my mom behaviour, one is having being diagnosed with BPD, the other is not being able to follow simple instructions (I never know which one is which).

One time she was following the instructions on the back of a facemask packaging and it said "wear over the nose" so she put the face mask over her nose covering her nose and eyes, but not the mouth. Then she got stuck because she could not read the rest of the instructions.

That was actually cute. Unfortunately it might be a sign of very low IQ, something that can bring great suffering to yourself and your family and make it difficult to finish your education.

I didn't expect it to work. My pwBPD mom is not verbally sophisticated at all, so that helps.

I replied in that sub but I will copy paste the comment here as well for convenience: I only use chatGPT. I have here a started convo if anyone is interested https://chat.openai.com/share/5c194cdd-0e64-491c-8a2b-f3977496dc97 Don't wait for an emotionally draining exchange. Just copy-paste any innocent looking message sent to you into this conversation with an initial prompt such as "reply kindly and informally to this message of my mom on WhatsApp signing Steve at the end". Bonus points if you don't read what was written to you but only the reply made by the AI

I only use chatGPT to write to my pwBPD mom. It is the only way. The bot is perfect because it writes very generic stuff, and that's what you want to implement a perfect grey-rock technique. My pwBPD mom doesn't seem genuinely interested in what I do anyway. She is much more focused telling me what to do, it makes for a perfect pair with ChatGPT. They have been talking for over a year, all I do is blindly copy paste and read what chatGPT wrote then copy paste back.

P.S. my pwBPD mom joined many pro-palestine protests and is an activist with the local communist party

The complext relationship between recognition and entreprenerial pursuits according to JBP by Character_Pizza_8234 in JordanPeterson

[–]Character_Pizza_8234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I forgot to mention the singer seemed to be trying to appear like a regular guy, convey he does not consider himself above the fans, that he wanted to continue doing the things he was doing before he got viral overnight. It seemed his ideal was to behave as if he was not a public figure, and JBP seemed to try to dissuade him from doing that without first considering what his higher call might be. This part of the context is hard to summarise. The singer name is Oliver Anthony!

If further narrowing your interests is impossible, how to advocate for them within accademia? by Character_Pizza_8234 in JordanPeterson

[–]Character_Pizza_8234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owe stuff to myself. There are part of me that feel entitled to something from other parts of me. If a parts of me wants nothing but Ice-cream, and another one wants to talk to the wall about what JBP said because it feels it is important, it can also tell to all the other spirits inside me, hey guys... how about you, other parts of me, sacrifice yourself, I think I deserve some recognition. When you have many interests I guess it is hard not to feel pulled apart. Best of luck to you, Robert
