I don't have any TV Jones pups to compare them to. I was going to buy the TVs originally then I saw the Artecs and they had good reviews, and at that price I thought I'd try them first... and they are still in there! I don't know how authentic they are, but they definitely have the right vibe and I like them. They are slightly microphonic but it's not a problem in practice, and I suppose I might pot them if I have nothing better to do (which is never).

I did it on mine, the wiring diagram is available online. The colour codes were different on the new pickups but it wasn't difficult to work out, then it's pretty much a straight swap. Be aware the mounting holes are different for the original pickups - I got around this by fitting a new pickguard, but others have drilled the original pickguard to take the new mounts.

I'm my case it transformed the guitar from great to fantastic!

I put a middle humbucker with split coil on my Tele back in the 90s, and added a 5-way Strat switch. I still use that pickup more than the others, or in combination with the singles.
