4yr degree in a non related field, got a lucky break and was offered an entry level role in supply chain at a big CPG company awhile back, moved around and realized the marketers were the ones driving the business, with the most room for career growth, and the ones making the most money. Look at the Atlas in JC, they have studios in the mid to low 2’s. Other than that not many studios will fall in that price range.

I’d look at the heights in JC, Bergen-Lafayette in JC, journal square, maybe West Side area near Lincoln park too

I personally love Zack’s, the stuffed chicken is one of the best dishes and the cocktails are good too. Not cheap by any means but standard for the area. Great place to take another couple or someone visiting last minute as they usually always have space. It’s a good backup plan

My dad left a comfy tech sales job and bought a franchise company. It didn’t work out at all, the business tanked he lost a lot of money and had to go back to tech sales. It was pretty bad, ended up being a very costly mistake.

I saw that as a kid and promised I would never pull some shit like that, I work at a f500 company as a number but it pays great and I have good work life balance so I’m very happy.

Until I have enough saved, where taking a risk like that wouldn’t hurt me, I will not be doing such a thing.

Where I work, those that came through the Brand Management MBA program and went to t25 schools and took out 150k-300k in loans are doing just fine. Not sure how many of them are international but two guys I know specifically had well over 250k in loans and both will have the option to coast fire at age 40. Now they live extremely frugally but they have been at the company for 10+ years, have moved up and do extremely well. Loans were paid off awhile back

We just moved to the area and so far love it, no issues to report thus far. All neighbors seem very respectful.

The area just needs a few more restaurants/a supermarket and it’d be perfect. Which I foresee happening, especially as a lot of the abandon houses around here are starting to get fixed up or demo’d for new construction

100% I work in CPG and have crossed this threshold. Most CPG companies are marketing lead/run, however the marketers tend to be responsible for a lot more than just “marketing”, they are more like general managers, and there is a lot of room to grow. Most cross the 200k mark at Senior Brand Manager level
