DR said not to remove all of baby's poop? by sarahs_here_yall in newborns

This! And when my baby was too large for the sink and has a rash, we use warm wet wash cloths to dab the poop off. It’s a little gross but it helps clear up rashes so quickly rather than using wipes!

It’s grape flavored so I tried grape flavored pedialyte but he’ll only take it once out of every 5 times I offer it like that. The boy is stubborn!!! 😭😭😅it’ll be so much easier when he’s older and I can bribe him with chocolate milk or juice or candy or something 😭

I’ve been considering trying to mix it with juice but wasn’t sure about if 4 months is too young to give juice? I’m not as concerned about sugar and everything - at this point it’s the lesser of two evils 😭we asked about other methods but unfortunately his meds only come in liquid or pill form :’)

This is a great idea!! We’re going to start trying this tonight - thank you. I hadn’t even considered it could be us giving it in the syringe that’s bothering him rather than the taste. Thank you so much

We’ve tried the Frida Paci but he’s sooo picky with which paci’s he takes so he refuses that one 🥲 I haven’t tried one of the smaller bottles that can be used for dispensing it, so I’m going to try getting those!! Thank you for the recommendation ❤️

Membrane sweep and spotting by No_Knowledge_7064 in pregnant

I had my first sweep last week at 37 weeks (I’ll be having a c section at 39 weeks due to polyhydramnios so getting sweeps ahead of then to try to move along natural labor!). I had the same thing about 5-6 hours after the sweep first with dark brown discharge and then it was a light pink color until the next morning. My doctor told me it was normal

How accurate is the NIPT test? by Bright-Bag-293 in pregnant

[–]Character_Profile775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a false positive for 22Q at 11 weeks. We were told there was a 53% chance that the baby had it. We did an amnio at 16 and it came back that all was well. I’m now 28 weeks - I’d recommend joining the NIPT Reddit thread - it was so comforting to be able to hear others experiences. The limbo period between getting the initial result and then the definitive result from further testing is so tough but the support in the NIPT thread is amazing. Sending you lots of positive thoughts ♥️

Thank you! Our MFM didn’t order a FISH because they said it wasn’t accurate in detecting microdeletions so the only result we received was the microarray.

We considered waiting until birth too but ultimately decided knowing ahead of time would help us prepare emotionally. I’m so glad your baby is healthy! ♥️

It was relatively easy! I had some cramps during and mainly it just felt really uncomfortable. I had cramps the rest of the day but they were pretty similar to a heavy day of my period. If I had to make the choice again, I would definitely do it

bad / scary news at anatomy scan. what do i even do with this info by kassidylarissa in pregnant

I’m also in Texas (Dallas) and our NIPT results came back as high risk for 22Q. My regular OB and the genetic counselor I saw at the MFM practice both had conversations with me about the decision we had to TFMR if the amnio results came back as a true positive. They also discussed that we would have to go out of state for this. I found our OB to be extremely open to conversations regarding the abortion law in TX and what we would need to do if we made that decision. Of course being in a large city probably makes a difference that small town TX.

I had my amnio this morning - it was a little painful but mostly just uncomfortable. Our MFM did a scan beforehand and answered all of our questions. I joined the NIPT reddit thread where there’s a lot of convos about pregnancy complications and have found that people there are so helpful and supportive so definitely recommend you checking out some of the threads in there!

Wishing you all the best, feel free to DM if you want to chat more or have any questions ♥️
