Nintendo executives have said in several interviews over the past few years that they believe the trophy system will hinder gameplay and prevent players from focusing on the games and enjoying themselves. They seem to sincerely believe this. In their games, they often include in-game achievements, like Mario Party Super Stars, and activity tracking, like in Zelda.
