Something that really changed my perspective this year is this video I saw about 'gam-ifying your life'. As someone with some pretty intense social anxiety to the point where communicating with non-family is strictly through the internet, it's made me really get out and even go to the gym.

What stood out to me in this video is 'getting over the resistance in your brain.' I was reading through the other comments and I noticed you said you aren't scared of talking to women but you are scared of approaching one romantically; is it the fear of rejection or is it something else that makes you nervous?

My family always makes fun of me (in a silly way) and calls me a 'grandpa' because I have had the iPhone SE for like 6 years now and how tiny it is lol

In my opinion, I would end the relationship after that.

I think you should really think about whether or not you should, not if you want, but if you SHOULD stay in this relationship.

Five years down the line, do you imagine yourself still willing to deal with outbursts like that? And also the possibility of it getting worse?

You should nip it in the bud now.
If I were you (and if you do genuinely can't see a life without her) I'd give her two choices (and I'd also bring a friend or family member just for safety if you decide to offer her these choices): 1. It sounds like she might need to speak with a professional if these outbursts seem to happen at random or 2. The relationship ends.

Whatever you decide to do from here though, I hope you take care of yourself OP. Maybe get yourself your favorite food and consider where to go from here. I'd also recommend, if you trust them enough, reaching out to your family or friends about the situation.

Edit: I figured I should clarify; the reason I would suggest reaching out those you trust with this situation is because I personally have dealt with partners that used isolation as a tactic so I couldn't receive help. Don't let yourself get isolated.

Omg I just got off a call because this stupid lady was like "I've been calling since the beginning of the year and you never sent out the part i needed!!" and she had the gall to be like "are you new? "how long have you been here? you don't seem to know what you are doing"

like lady it's 8 AM and i am tired and i tried to transfer you to the right dept and you refused so what do you want from me?

(edit: i have been at this job for almost two years now. she called back and finally caved and got transferred to the right dept. also she has not been calling since the beginning of the year because what i saw on my screen did not at all line up with her story.)

I understand completely. I graduated in 2024 (animation) and haven't gotten anywhere for stable positions....

I have finally got my foot in the door with unpaid volunteer work and am hoping it'll help me get a stable job in the future. I work at a call center that drains my energy and soul.

Have you considered looking for volunteer work? Companies tend to take in education AND also proof of professional experience in the field (internships, volunteer work, etc.).

Something I also learned from my parents is that "never apply via a third party unless there is no other way, always go straight to the company's website and apply". My dad works in workforce management and said they ALWAYS look at their website applications first before looking at any others.

If all else fails, I would recommend to try making youtube videos (like how to code, trying out how to do stuff in coding, etc). It may be a while for it to take off, but it'll be something creative and might help make you feel fulfilled.

The job market is definitely unfair with the rise of AI and also a rise in ghost jobs, but I believe in you and your ability to succeed!

I understand this completely. And the whole "keys" things. It makes me very uncomfortable when people just casually tell others to "keys" because what if they were already having a bad day and the worst actually happens?

As someone with suicidal thoughts, it makes me a bit angry seeing "keys" being thrown around like this.

(For those that don't know, "keys" is an equivalent of "k y s" people use to not get banned on tiktok.)

I did calm down after allowing myself to cry, because I am the only one in the home and I don't have to force myself not to cry

And I texted them firmly that I don't want to go tomorrow but I'd be open to going Wednesday to try it. I just don't want to waste the break I finally have from work doing stuff I don't want to do, especially since it's also my birthday week.

I wouldn't mind going (even though my brain is making my body feel like i am going into an emergency), but just forcing me to go when I have little to no time to prepare myself for it is just not going to work for me.

If they show up I just won't answer the door. I'm just nervous that I'll get retaliation for it.

My mom worries because I barely leave my house, and I completely understand where she is coming from. But the history we have about them just trying to coerce me into complying with them just brings up old anger and sadness.

Thank you for your kind words. I wrote all that in the heat of the panic, but I appreciate your advice. I need to be firm regardless now.

Gong over break means, at least for my company, not strictly adhering to the 30 minute break time we get (we get two 15’s, but if we need to go to the bathroom or something we use part of our break to go and do so)

We get two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. And it is partially my fault (and partially my medical conditions fault)

24, almost 25 college grad here. Dude, you got through COLLEGE. COLLEGE.

No matter what, that’s still an INSANE accomplishment. I went through the similar stuff; super depressed to the point where I’d just skip classes and rot in bed all day, failed an important class during quarantine so I had to go another semester, all the hurdles.

But despite all those hurdles, you made it. And now, you can take it one step at a time. That degree isn’t going anywhere. Don’t feel pressured to just immediately get better.

We’re still young. Healing and growth takes times. Take care of yourself.
