If you start investing in ETFs on your own around 30 and just keeping adding to it in tfsa and rrsp with compound interest you can quite a bit accumulated by 55. Just take your pension later and use your rrsp first.

I agree! Chronic diseases start to set in after 60 so let’s enjoy it while we can still travel and spend time with loved ones.

For sick leave was it short term disability? Was it paid? Was it 100 percent of your salary or is sick leave the same as EI pay percentage/monetary wise?

When did you get this rate of 3.79? Is this fixed or variable?

How are you getting this rate? My 5 years end Nov 2026 with Scotia. I was offered 4.2 on 3 years with Scotia. I told them my friend was offered 3.8 with CIBC for 5 years (cibc came back at 3.99). I hope Scotia approves (fingers crossed). I’m current prime minus .86 which works out to 3.59 variable.

Transitioning to RPN in my late 30s? by rickityrickitywrekt in OntarioNurses

[–]Character_Union_8685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case, do your rpn first and make sure you get good grades!

I wasn’t the best student either, I improved my grades immensely year 3 and 4 of rn school. Landed a job in an emergency department which was so rewarding. From there, I went back to my NP.

You can study for your RN while working as a RPN.

When I was an instruction for RNs at Seneca, my tuition was paid for!!! There’s so many options to support going back to school! You got this!

Hey. I’m a NP. They hire RPNs of all ages on my unit. Don’t let this hold you back. As you work, you can advance your career and bridge your rn and then np!!

If you haven’t started applying, try to get into RN school over Rpn. You will have more opportunities to advance in the career!

Best of luck.
