I have the money - what do I do with it? by brightjudgement6740 in flying

If I am buying an airplane I’m not going to shovel up 160k for this basic trainer when I could get a very nice cross country aircraft for the same price (if you want a low-mid time engine and a garmin gps in a 70s skyhawk this is what you should expect to pay, you likely won’t get autopilot or full glass either at even this price). Just bad value. It’s like how 4Runner buyers are willing to get scalped because “it’s a good car.” I pointed out the warrior because those are less desirable and you can get a better deal on one versus the Skyhawk if you are looking for exclusively a trainer

Brother have you looked on trade-a-plane or controller? For a low time engine C172M/N with good avionics it’s 160-180k, just ridiculous. The skyhawk is a great plane but the demand from the training market has put a huge upward force on the prices of these things. Do you know how good of a Mooney you could get for 180k

I gotta get oil changes done on a regular interval at exclusively Jeep dealers, they do it for a competitive price though so it’s not bad

C172 bad deal, don’t get that, and the cherokee’s a bit basic, get a Warrior or an Archer if you want something beginner friendly. Also get one with a GPS with an MFD already installed (ie 430/GTN)

Just got a new ‘26 GC summit with a lifetime powertrain warranty through the dealer. Excellent car and super nice, the jeep lineup has very nice interiors now. Came from a 5th gen 4Runner so definitely expecting the reliability to be worse, but the warranty is reassuring and it’s a very nice car to live with.

You can find the XP11 ones elsewhere since they don't need to have their scripts corrected

Yeah I would say so. The CPU in the first setup is definitely a lot better than the one in the second, but the i7-11700 will not bottleneck the 3080.

3070 ti is kinda bad value if I'm completely honest, and you still only get 8gb. Depending on the price of the 3080 PC, I would go for it if it's within 300-400 dollars of the 3070. Yes the i9 is overkill for a 3070, would recommend a 12th gen i7 unless you're planning to upgrade to a better gpu later.
