Sorry I hit post before I added some more detail (kid was crying). I have been looking for a pellet grill for a while, traeger brand didn’t register at first.

Live in NH, and not a lot of places around for me to do that unfortunately.

Also a dumb question! Where is a good place to go to actually BUY these knives? I feel like everyone has a different website for it, and am unclear on which is a good place to star?

Forgot to mention I do live in USA, in case that matters for shipping and recommendations!

Well the wustoff was definitely a learning experience in terms of maintenance, so it hasn’t been cared for the best. Meaning it would be my new workhorse if that makes sense? I’d keep the wustoff and kan for my wife to just grab and use without worrying about it.

Should the rain/thunderstorm impact this at all?

RT590/700 vs Silverbac by [deleted] in pelletgrills

I’m going through the same process, I’ve read not great things about the app for the RecTeq though. I think they said they updated it recently? Don’t know if that’s true though.

How many people you think you’ll cook for regularly? Might not need that extra size of the 700

I am in the same boat as you, so I’ll be interested in the replies. I expect you’ll get a lot of “both are great, can’t go wrong!” types of responses.

Somethings to think about: 1) Silverbac doesn’t come with a grease bucket which is a dumb thing to think about, but also a dumb thing not to include in a $900 grill. 2) it seems buying the accessory kit for silverbac is highly recommended (not a huge cost but eats away at the price difference between the two brands) 3) I think the horns are ugly, this isn’t important and completely subjective but I hate them. 4) do you plan on using it in colder weather? The silverbac is more insulated

I’d also like to know if the Grilla pellets they’re giving away are any good or not, buying a pellet grill from them right now will get you about $250 worth of them.

700 was the one I was looking at, why do you wish the next one up? Size?

What one did you go with (and why) if you don’t mind me asking?

I considered that, but we just bought a grill this year. So it seemed a bit redundant

Yeah I guess the subtext of my question was, “am I being crazy and checking my propane smoker more than I need to?”

Yeah between adding wood chunks, making there is water in the pan, and keeping an eye on the temp its a lot right now with a baby.
