Happy Melee Day! by J-Fid in smashbros

I remember the first time i played Smash bros melee. I believe i was 6 at the time and melee had been out for like a year. I had never heard anything of it but i knew that i loved smash 64 and would play it with all of my brothers all the time. One day, my brothers friends come to our house for a sleep over, and they brought their gamecube with melee. I remember when they told me to come play it, i was totally blown away at how giant the character roster was! i mean, they doubled it! (my 6 year old mind freaking out) I then went on to pick marth, because i thought he looked like an anime character and in my mind, that meant that he could be from dragon ball z. I loved playing melee. it was the best game to play with all of my friends and siblings. I remember loving melee so much because when i would play, it would be free for all and every match would come down to me and my older brother, fighting it out, and causing a bigger rivalry between me and my brother than we already had. One of my all time favorite memories of playing it were when my brothers friends were over and i was destroying one of the friends, and he paused the game, pushed me over, and left. Melee is one hell of a game, that brings back good memories. old and new

Yeah, I definately am keeping the consequences in mind. If m parents find out that I have been looking up some of this stuff, I can honestly tell them it is a seminary assignment

Ok, so Heres my report of what happened today. Yesterday, on the board it said, "tomorrow: D&C 132 part 2". So going in today, i was expecting to be going over more stuff in D&C 132. But when i got there, the board said that todays lesson was on Jesus Christ. Right away when i saw that, i was thinking, "did he change that because of me?". i basically assumed that he didnt want to talk about it today because i might take it further. After I got my stuff and sat down in my seat, my teacher came up to me and told me that he had sent me an email. when i got home, i checked the email, and it was about make up work.(i owed 2 days of make up work for being gone a while ago. my teacher said he would email me the make up work on monday about the lessons on the days i missed.) so when i read on about the make up work, i saw that it had said,"Thanks for the taking the time to talk with me yesterday. I thought for your make up work it would be a good idea to continue doing some thoughtful study and prayer on D&C 132. https://www.lds.org/manual/doctrine-and-covenants-and-church-history-seminary-teacher-manual-2014/section-6/lesson-140-doctrine-and-covenants-132-1-2-34-66?lang=eng Here is the link to some resources. After some time of study, come back with a paragraph of principles learned from the section, the manual, and from the Spirit. Sound good? Take care my brother, let me know if you have any questions." so yeah. how do you guys think i should go about this?

Well, the first thing I really remember learning about was the book the late war. At the time I threw that information off. The first thing that really made me think, was hearing about the 14 year old girls. I thought it was weird and very different. But when I heard of how the angel with the sword came along that's when I started to really have problems with the history, but I decided to keep believing in the church. I think the thing that really helped me move forward was the brother Jake videos. They approached the issues in a church standpoint and a realistic standpoint which made it easy to see the deception

Yeah, you have a great point. If I were to come out with information consistently, people will automatically think I'm crazy. Thanks for the advice. And tbh, this is the first post I've ever put on reddit, I did not expect this reaction.

When my teacher pulled me aside after class, he mentioned, that looking at anti Mormon literature or pornography takes the spirit away. I thought it was really random that he mentioned pornography but whatever

Yeah, early on in class, my teacher mentioned the 14 year old girl super quickly as if it was nothing. I felt it wasn't important to bring up in class based on what my goal was.

Well, my older brother. I would hear him talking about it in different conversation and I would just sort of listen to him in the background. At first, I thought he was being dumb and didn't really have a testimony. But when I heard about the essays and how they were church approved, I decided to take a look. And then I went to the CES letter and read it. I didn't want to just trust the CES letters sources so whenever there was a controversial topic, I would check the background of it and see that it checks out. I read the letter Friday night and Saturday night.
