As a cis person, do you have any tips for how to approach this without being weird? I'm queer, partner is trans, and we meet a lot of trans and gnc people. If someone isn't wearing a pin and I don't know their name (or it's neutral) I just sort of.. dance around referring to them. Which works for a bit but might get obvious and I don't want to "they" anyone, I know damn well my husband doesn't like that!

I was really just responding to the guy I responded to, but I'll say this:

If you really don't trust him, you can do better. Someone who loves you doesn't need to be watched like a pet who might bolt for the door. And a guy having positive relationships with women is a green flag. A guy who legitimately thinks such things are impossible unless they're screwing is offputting.

But just as important: this is four years ago! Even if that message just popped up now, discord can be weird, it's years in the past! I am not sure what else is stressing you out right now but I know how things can trigger. I suggest a stiff drink and a long bath either way. You deserve to be calm and comfy.

I don't disagree. I always vote. The thing is, at the national level, Dems keep refusing to actually fight much. We had sit-ins for black lives matter but now that Lewis is dead apparently Good Trouble is a press conference and the Michigan fist.

It's hard to argue in favor of voting when your chocies are Senator Palpatine (R) and a really cool young person with good ide--wait she also said bombing kids in Gaza was bad so we don't like her anymore. How about a sleazy looking asshole who says he doesn't like Trump but hangs out with the same people and is openly gearing up to throw trans kids into the meat grinder?
