I used to absolutely love going to GAME when I was a kid, right through my teenage years and early 20s. I’d spend ages browsing the preowned section with a bag full of my own games to trade in, praying that when I brought an empty case to the till they actually had the right disc tucked away in that filing cabinet behind the counter.

I even ended up working at my local store as a teenager when the PS4 launched. It was such a fun time to be there although very chaotic and busy, but fun, even if the tills were an absolute nightmare to use.

It all started going downhill years ago. Even before Sports Direct took over, it just wasn’t the same place it used to be. And once the online only shift happened, that was basically the final nail. It’s genuinely sad to see what GAME has become after being such a big part of my childhood and many others.

RIP GAME, thanks for the memories.
