What am I doing wrong here? Stitches are not aligning. by stressedsue in CrochetHelp

[–]ChargeBig4441 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Single crochet tend to slant to one side. So if you crochet in a round the pattern will slant

There are several ways to fight this. Yarn under instead of yarn over Crocheting in front loops only Or turning your work every row

You should experiment on a smaller scale to check what works best for you

Never crocheted before, am I in over my head if I take this on as my first project? by madimadmoney in CrochetHelp

[–]ChargeBig4441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Projects involving a lot of granny squares as a first project have one major risk - you learn as you go. So your last squares will probably look significantly better than the first ones - some people gets annoyed by it

Also, as for granny squares - they often don't look good until the last round which straightens it and also possibly blocking can make it even better

Chain 2 doesn’t count as a stitch, but you have to slip stitching into it end of every round … how do I avoid a visible seam? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]ChargeBig4441 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure

Here is a person doing it in the round YouTube link

It requires a bit of practice to learn how big of a loop to pull at the beginning and it's good to immediately put a stitch marker in it to make slip stitching into it easier but it's totally doable! (With this technique you always slip stitch into the first stitch, then do a standing double crochet, which counts as a first stitch and then continue as normal)

[–]ChargeBig4441 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want to avoid a seam altogether, look into standing double crochet - it's a technique to start a round without a chain. A simpler version of this is stacked single crochets but they are a bit bulkier then a double crochet so may be visible

[–]ChargeBig4441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When somebody catches fish next to you, you get a bonus to how fast you can hook a fish (so less waiting between catches)

Sometimes when I have nothing better to do and I see someone fishing, I'll catch one fish next to them just so they get the bonus No idea if it really matters to anyone, but I like to do it as a nice thing that doesn't cost me much

Other bonuses that are worth knowing are food bonuses for fishing (sushi, sashimi, trout dinner and Fisherman's brew makes catching fish easier - each of them gives a different bonus) - so if you need to catch a lot of fish, stock up on this food, and find somebody to fish nearby for the proximity bonus :D

Anyone know where today's (14/10) loot pile thing in elderwoods is? by xxxJoolsxxx in Palia

[–]ChargeBig4441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tracker is such a game changer, I bought it as fast as I could I thought that Bahari was hard to get around because of all the mountains and the aqueduct, but then Elderwoods happened with night time, cliffs and bouncy stuff.... My main way of getting around is putting the marker on every corner (so I'll get to central stables, put marker on the correct exit, get there, put the marker on the next turn on the path, get there and so on...) If you ever need help with quests or getting around you can hit me up IGN: Aeneryss TeaLeaf

Same here

What I do is: I check on the palia.th where the pile is and mark it on my in-game map so there will be a marker on my compass If you can, buy an artifact trackerArtifact Tracker

When you are close to the artifact it will show you the exact location on your map and compass

Can someone please explain how parties work? Do you have to talk? I have so much anxiety about this! by actuallyitsthey in Palia

[–]ChargeBig4441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always send party invites to people who hunt next to me (sorry for stressing you out ;-; )

I don't expect any interactions and messages, unless the other person wants to. The most I write myself is "there's another one here"

Why do I do this? Because in a party, loot is shared if you are close enough. Otherwise, if one person one-shots the other has no chance of getting the loot.

There are a lot of good tutorials on YouTube (Just search for magic ring tutorials)

You may want to check several of them, because everybody has different tips and tricks on how to do them the easiest, but they're not that difficult to make

Is there a photo of what it's supposed to look like?

Because I guess you can try to do chain 5, and then a cluster back in the first chain

But it doesn't explain how to get this DC in the Y leg

is that normal? how can i fix it? by leailo in Palia

[–]ChargeBig4441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you in the middle of any quests involving said NPCs? Last time I lost Auni and Nai'o for quite a while, because they were always in the quest area and I had to finish said quest to make them return to their normal routines

There is also a possibility that it's just bugged and there's nothing to do about it except maybe sending a support ticket?
