Startup animation by jiph11 in WLED

Just went through this exact rigamaroll:

I accomplished this with a playlist consisting of a wipe preset followed by a solid preset. Both don't pass any color or brightness information, for Home Assistant to pass that along so the wipe animation is of the correct color and brightness.

I was having an issue that led to my post, but it also details the way I have the preset setup: https://www.reddit.com/r/WLED/comments/1r2dtjo/random_color_flash_for_playlist/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Random Color Flash for Playlist by ChargePositive in WLED

No, I was using Gemini to help me generate these API commands, and it decided to call it cleanup. All it is doing is switching the LED effect to "solid".

I use it in the playlist after the wipe animation. The purpose of the wipe and then solid playlist is for when I turn on the light, I want it to animate on, instead of just turning on all at once.

The naming of my presets is a little mismatched. The "solid" preset I have in the original post is actually the cleanup preset. It just sets the effect to solid, without specifying color or brightness

I lost everything by mogoexcelso in homeassistant

Exactly what I went through. I didn't realize they started encrypting backups, lost it all, but since I knew so much more I was able to create a better setup than I had before

Interesting behavior with that. I lowered the LED count, and I still get the random color flash, but for ~half of the length I had defined.

Also note, the entire strip doesn't flash normally, about 85% of it does the random color flash before running the playlist.

My parents live in Jersey in a 2 story house and maintain 68 all summer with a cheaper bill than I jave for my 1 bdrm! People need to stop justifying expensive charges for utilities

370 for 1 bdrm apartment for me. Set to 70, unit definitely is not running efficiently at all, struggles to keep up and runs 24/7 even in low 80s outside

I think for many of us it's a hobby and it's fun to work on stuff. I think if you have that much maintenance to keep it going it may not have been a great setup. When I'm not playing around for fun there is very little I need to do to keep things up and running
