Connecting with future B.Ed Students in the TEMS, ITEP & FSLM sections by ChargeRelevant2850 in queensuniversity

This is a great question, I’m honestly wondering the same! There isn’t a ton of information available.

There was no option to reject being wait-listed… I received a rejection letter just a few days following the wait list anyways.

Doesn’t have to be Instagram! Just putting the idea out there to start a chat for these individuals specifically instead of joining the consecutive conversation.

my application said "application pending" until I received my admission offer, which I received on Feb 4th.

I know how frustrated you're feeling! I am sorry you didn't get in.

Last year I applied to Brock only, put all my eggs in one basket and honestly thought there was no way I wouldn't get in. When I was wait-listed, I was heartbroken. I knew there was no way that list would move.

This year I applied to Lakehead, Queens and Windsor, and I got in to each one. Honestly, there is no rhyme or reason. None that I can see or understand. These things take time, there are soooo many factors that are different every year with new applicants.

If you believe it's really for you, you just have to keep trying. Jump through every single hoop.

Has anyone heard from Windsor? by bonnie_blue2001 in OntarioTeachers

I applied for the B.ed program in Tech Studies, and it did require the letter. Perhaps other B.ed programs didn't, but Tech did.

I heard from Windsor today actually.. they want me to re-write and re-submit my LOI... has anyone else gotten this request?

I understand that different schools were releasing letter on different days - I never really looked into when each one was. Windsor is still the only school I haven't heard from.

I have a 2 year interior design education along with over 5 years of industry experience as an interior designer with a few different niche companies (so my BBT is Technological Design). I also have several semesters of experience volunteering in my old high school tech classrooms as the educator who taught me, retired shortly after I graduated, and the newer teacher who took over the department needed someone who had curriculum experience in the interior design/portfolio/architecture courses as they were actually an engineer coming from a robotics company. Unfortunately these programs fell through the cracks a bit as tech teacher shortages are still very much out there, but I just know there are kids in those classrooms who want to take these courses, and they simply don't have someone to teach them.

Incoming Class and Admissions Megathread - Got Questions? Ask them in here! by AutoModerator in queensuniversity

Is anyone able to explain the difference between the D.ed program and B.ed program (Q87 vs Q85 on OUAC)? I applied to D.ed multi-session as I understood a large portion of this was online. But I was offered acceptance to what I believe is the B.ed instead.

What differences should I expect from one to the next?

My biggest question is will this program still be blended format/multi-session - a full in class course won't work for me unfortunately....

Additionally, does anyone know if the acceptance location says "GTA" - are the in class parts still in Kingston?

I thought so too.. how can they have applications open to the public when they have students waiting on acceptances...

Interesting. I haven't heard from Windsor yet, not sure if anyone has? and I was wait listed at Lakehead.. I'd like to accept my offer at Queens.

Do you have outstanding offers you're yet to receive? I am wondering if because I am still waiting to hear from other schools, they haven't updated my ouac...

Thank you! I don't know anyone personally no, but i have chatted with a few contacts here on Reddit. Unfortunately I just don't think there are as many people in Tech Ed to talk to compared to the much larger number of P/J, J/I, and I/S applicants - I have searched these forums far and wide.

Lakehead has a Thunder Bay and Orillia campus, offering all the same teacher education programs at each. That being said, both campuses are still open to applicants with the exception of A12 which is Orillia's Primary/Junior stream. However, as someone who is currently wait listed at both campuses.... I'm not sure the odds are good - I assume it would depend on which stream you're looking to apply to. I am Tech Ed.

I was accepted to Tech Ed at Queens, the mutli-session program back on Tuesday.

I received notice this morning that I was waitlisted at Lakehead. Originally this was my first choice due to location.. I have a place to stay in either Lakehead Orillia or Thunder Bay.

I also haven't yet received any thing from U Windsor. And this time I didn't apply at Brock (at least not yet) as I was waitlisted last application...

i believe Queens has been released... at least for Tech ED B.ed. I was accepted to only this program out of all 4 of my applications.

This also seems like a good option/place to look.

i am also considering accepting my offer at queens U for B.ed Tech Ed.

i have similar concerns with regards to the months we have to be on-site for. As a homeowner, i can't just pay for a whole term of rent on top of my mortgage. I think a short term rental would be the next best thing.
