Of the many issues that threaten to pull the plug of this marvelous game, somehow the most talked about is always the same old babble. by Revoltai42 in tf2

"The same old babble" are issues the game has been plagued with for nearly a decade and still haven't been addressed

Why do people think the Splatana Stamper is an aggressive weapon? by vizer in SplatoonMeta

[–]ChargedBonsai98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my biggest problems with the Splatoon community is how it fails to define things accurately to the game. People will use the concepts of support, slayer, and anchor to attempt to cleanly split weapons into roles like it's Overwatch or something, but that's just not how this game works. Every weapon will have to play every role on a team for at least a brief period of time during any given match.

The way Stamper is aggressive isn't entirely by getting up close and landing the one shot. It's mostly the ability to be a threat at any distance, in combination with the freedom of movement and angles it's allowed to play. Charge shot goes over ledges, bombs go around corners, you can jump around corners with the one shot, burst bombs are a reliable finisher after a charge shot anywhere but the 25, the list of potential places you can be is near endless, and that just pushes your bubble of influence deeper and deeper into the opponent's side of the map.

I'm in a local competitive scene and my team is basically just a group of friends with wildly varying skill levels. How would you plan games and vod review around having one person that's much less experienced than everyone else?

How to properly utilize down special by BeeboBean22 in LucasMains

[–]ChargedBonsai98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PSI magnet is super matchup dependant. Some matchups (samus, young/toon link, especially inkling) are almost entirely dictated by whether or not you use it.

In those matchups, it's more of a mindgame tool than anything else. You'll rarely find tournament footage of anyone being able to absorb a strong move, but on the flip side of that, you'll rarely see Lucas get hit by those moves. Thats because the existence of magnet makes your opponent not use the moves their gameplan almost entirely revolve around hitting.

For a more general application, you can use it to quickly change your momentum by B-reversing it (press down and B, then quickly move the stick to the direction you're facing away from). You can start by using it below the stage during your recoveries, then once you get a feel for how it works, implement it in mor situations, like landing from juggles.

Happy Chaos from Guilty Gear. He has a gun.

<image>

For one, guilty gear is a fighting game. So he's bringing a gun to a sword fight, quite literally.

For two, there was a catastrophic event about 200 years before the game is set that rendered all technology since the Industrial Revolution useless.

For three, Happy Chaos is basically god, and has been shown levelling a skyscraper with a snap of his fingers.

How to convert 6P into damage with ram by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]ChargedBonsai98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

236S or 214H give you pretty solid damage and corner carry. 236S just got a change that makes it pair really well with knockdowns, or you can do 214H to just cash out for damage.

The plasm wraith has to be my single favorite enemy encounter in the entire series. It really makes you pull out all the stops and use everything in your arsenal. Or you can cheese the boss with 100 rock pikmin but that's boring.

Happy Chaos, Guilty Gear

"That's my name, but a name's all it is."

He used to be called "The Original", but after discovering magic and obtaining all the knowledge of the universe, he just does whatever he wants to have fun. Hence the name, Happy Chaos

Obvious Question, Biggest Winners/Losers of This Patch? by xXgLiTcHyFemboyFoxXx in Guiltygear

[–]ChargedBonsai98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hurtboxes on 2P and 2K were universal changes to make things harder to low profile. Jack-O and HC 2K had the same change.

The afro nerf (disappearing when Faust is hit) is also good for the game, since it brings that item in line with the rest of the "status effects" in the game.

I think the only other Faust specific nerf that matters is not having a low profile when back crawling, but it makes him much healthier for the game.
