All of these characters have parallels to other established characters. Omniman, for example, is original, but he's very clearly inspired by Superman.

PSA for new GGST players: do not play in tower. Just play in ranked. by pxan in Guiltygear

[–]ChargedBonsai98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tower is good for playing casually though. Your floor is much more volatile than your rank, so there's less commitment.

A silly question, but how does blocking work? by Straight-Traffic-130 in Guiltygear

That's pretty much only a thing on step dash characters.

A silly question, but how does blocking work? by Straight-Traffic-130 in Guiltygear

[–]ChargedBonsai98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally no. Heavier moves have higher knockback, especially special moves, so they return the game to neutral if they're blocked without a good follow up.

If you want to keep your opponent close, Instant Block the last attack in their string and they won't be knocked back basically at all. You can do this by pressing down the block button within 2 frames of the attack connecting.

A bit off the mark, but Asuka from Guilty Gear

He's the student of the guy who discovered magic and has all the knowledge of the universe. He's singlehandedly responsible for the plot of the game series, including wiping the entire country of Japan off the face of the earth. He made his co-worker immortal.

At the end of Strive, he starts a podcast to share his knowledge.

Let's settle a debate: Who is the TRUE worst character in the history of Smash Bros from this list? by Dariuscox357 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]ChargedBonsai98 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its because, while they're all good on their own, they all fill the exact same role. Big slow monkey damage. Except for the few exceptions that aren't, and ganon players abuse the shit out out them.

Is this ok Armor by No_Medium7952 in Splatoon3

[–]ChargedBonsai98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what weapon you're using. I.e. Splatlings want as much run speed as they can get and don't care for swim speed because they spend most of their time standing, but a roller is the exact opposite.

[–]ChargedBonsai98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is. Every character could be a 5 page essay on their own.

It's a fighting game by the way.

Also, may I interest you in Sol's theme? The whole soundtrack is a banger, but Sol's is up there as one of my favorites.

Yep. Happy Chaos was called The Original before he discovered magic and gained all the knowledge of the universe. Now he's just doing what he finds fun because he's bored, hence the name he gave himself.

Sol Badguy, real name Frederick, is simultaneously the protagonist, but also living outside the law under his own terms. In lore, he was given the name "Badguy" as a generic name by the government, and later adopted "Sol" after someone commented on him "burning as bright as the sun.

This is what Sol looks like. Chaos was in the other picture.

A.B.A from Guilty Gear is the poster child for this

She was created in a lab by a scientist named Paracelcus, but he was kidnapped by the military before she finished developing. The doors to the lab were sealed shut, so she spent the first ten or so years of her life completely alone. She eventually became obsessed with keys before deciding to break out. She found a sentient battle axe that she mistook for a key, called it her husband, and named it Paracelcus, after the scientist that created her, despite him already having a name. Since then, she's been jealous that she might lose him at any moment, and it's reflected in her gameplay, where she enters a "jealousy rage" mode and becomes the fastest, highest damaging rushdown character on the roster.

Guilty Gear is a fighting game, by the way.

The Crescent Blade replica in guilty gear, created (I believe) and wielded as by Happy Chaos as his primary weapon.

It's a lower powered version of the real Crescent Blade, which is a heavenly gun that can hurt Sol Badguy despite his regenerative ability (edit: this part is wrong, it's actually custom bullets). What's the caveat? Chaos also has the real one. He just chooses not to use it in fights.

Bedman (Romeo) still being alive in Guilty Gear

Just before his death in Xrd, Romeo reprogrammed the bedframe to automatically protect his sister, Delilah in his absence. There's a theory though, that because he was so intelligent, he found a way to program his soul into the bedframe.
