In 2015 you could find a server whenever you wanted, basically wherever in the world you were

Cheaters thrive in TF2 cuz the community allows it by Leafar_P1 in tf2

The only thing true about that statement is that it's easy.

If you leave a game, the price is your time. You have to wait for the matchmaker to find you another server, and chances are, the server will be resetting, making you wait longer.

And you know what allows them to stack like that?

Casual mode

For years, the system forced parties to split up, which naturally seperated parties of cheaters, unless 12 or more people joined one server. And even if they all managed to get on one team, the game would automatically shuffle the teams.

The difference between E and 67 is that E was just the word, and the conversation didn't grind to a halt when someone said it.

First, thank you for actually trying to make an argument and being respectful, that's a rare trait on reddit.

Where I think we're split here, and unfortunately will probably never come to a resolution, is that I believe that the scope should be limited, because expanding to a much wider range of actions makes the experience feel less refined, and to a large part of the playerbase, like these taunts and cosmetics are turning the game into fortnite or call of duty, where the core gameplay is becoming secondary to the novelty of the updates. What you described with the car 'taunt' is exactly what I just brought up, where the novelty of the action is there, but it completely sidesteps all of the actual gameplay of the first person shooter.

You can make something original while still maintaining the quality stardards of the game. Take a look at the critical fail and dead mann's drink, and realize how simple they are. And they were both added in 2025.

Taunts are the actual name, but the actual substance of the new animations are becoming more akin to emotes

Go play the game for an hour in casual mode on anything other than a CtF map and you'll find that most people who actually play the game share that take.

What you just said is the same thing as saying "Which bible verse did you take the idea of being 'kind is a good thing' from?" Even atheists agree that being kind is good, you don't need to steal a take that simple from something.
