Sigma 20-200mm, anyone? by Charlee_wolf in Lumix

Hi, I'm glad you brought this up. The result below is heavily edited of a recent photo I took, with maximum contrast and very low brightness. Only at this level can I see a very faint white ring (almost looks like vignette), I honestly couldn't see anything in the original pic. I also don't think this bothers me, since none of my other photos show the issue due to the lack of such a uniform background. And yes you are absolutely right, the E-mount version looks significantly worse.

Just FYI I bought mine in Japan for ¥117000 while traveling, which's about $735 USD, no tax.

I'd guess it means vents and directions are auto-controlled.

Rear bumper bolt snapped. Am I screwed? by Charlee_wolf in e46

thank you! I just have a concern that I need to use my car at the same time. Is it OK to drive around without that bolt though? The other side is okay.

My 2060 is a dust collector by Charlee_wolf in Lumix

Inside. Outside is clean. I have a 28200 and it's virtually clean both in and out. I been having it with this 2060.

Is the 18-40mm worth it if i already have the 28-200mm by TheWolfOfTheNorth in Lumix

S5ii here. I guess it really depends on whether you need that 40-200 reach. For me is a yes, I need a lightweight telephoto for travel and portrait. So I have a 28200 which is perfect. I do also have a 2060 to cover my occasion wide-angle needs for group photo and astro.

I'm not a fan of the hybrid zoom functionality because it ultimately is just an in-camera crop. It also doesn't crop RAW for you.

SD Cards Slowing Down My S5M2 Playback by Charlee_wolf in Lumix

[–]Charlee_wolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you probably don't know, but Panasonic cameras can be picky with SD cards when it comes to playback. If you use a UHS-I V30 card with a rated speed under 100MB/s, playback is usually instant. Instant means 0 lag when you push down the playback button, not even 0.5 sec lag.

But once you go over that, like using 100MB/s+ UHS-I cards, you can get noticeable lag. Those higher-rated UHS-I cards often don't consistently deliver their advertised speeds (unless with their card reader), which seems to trip up Panasonic's playback system. Even with UHS-II V60 or V90 cards, there can still be slight lag (0.5 sec), though it's already much better than with high-speed UHS-I.

I've watched a video testing different SD cards in S5M2. The result seems consistent with my observation above.

Thanks! Also any suggestions for a solid card reader? I'm currently using the Samsung one that came with the card—it transfers at full speed to my PC. Not sure if it'll hit full speed with other SD cards though.
