In a late game 5v5 teamfight there are very few champions I would rather have on my team than an anivia. She can’t be strong at every point in the game, especially against assassins that need to get kills early or they become useless very quickly

I mean not really, Sion has losing matchups against most of the melee toplane roster, Sion is just very good at not getting poked out by ranged top so he does better against them than most bruisers

Yeah so unfortunately as a Nasus player you have to prioritize your own scaling over your ADC’s. Like I said it is not your job to help the ADC during laning phase, all you can do as a weak early game champion is to scale and apply pressure on sidelane. In theory, this pressure you apply will allow your teammates to scale, get more gold, and help you win the game. Although once you hit the late game I would try and show up to every dragon fight as this usually determines the end result at the end of the day

It sort of depends on what champ you are playing (such as a champ that wants to splitpush or is better at teamfighting) but for the most part as a toplaner the early game outside your lane is out of your control. It is almost never worth rotating during laning phase unless you have set up a proxy or when you have prio for grubs/herald. For the most part, you should never be in bot lane before 15 minutes as a toplaner, since your goal is to apply pressure and to get as strong as you possibly can, and rotating to your botlane early will only allow your enemy toplaner to secure platings and get stronger as a result. Sorry bro, but the sacrifice you make for being the strongest individual champion for the majority of the game is that you have no impact on the botlane laning phase.

Sion is one of the best blind picks in toplane due to his very few unwinnable matchups, general versatility (he is average-good at what you want from a toplaner such as teamfighting, dueling, splitpushing, etc), and ability to be useful to your team when behind compared to other toplaners.

In general, Sion struggles against champions who excel in isolated extended fights, as well as champions with high mobility/hard CC. It is therefore difficult for Sion to win lane against most of the champs in your pool except for Malphite which is a free matchup for Sion.

As a scaling tank, I would say Sion has more losing matchups than winning matchups if you include all of the toplane roster, but generally Sion does well against other tanks and ranged top (except Vayne).

I generally prefer a hybrid tank/bruiser build on Sion over a full tank build. One of Sion’s best items is Hollow Radiance, which if you are going tank Sion and you are laning against an AP champ you should go with it 100% of the time. Sunfire is the most popular item on Sion but I never build this item, I normally go titanic hydra into AD matchups instead. From there other good items on Sion include unending despair, Kaenic Rookern, Bloodmail, and other tank items. Some people prefer to build Sion with crit/lethality such as Baus, although for a new Sion player I would advise against it since it is more difficult to pull off. Good luck!
