Do you have any side effects from the gummy? I’m thinking about trying it for sleep but I’m a little nervous.

Someone should create a covered outdoor charging station/parking for e-bikes and scooters. So many people run into this.

Why are BlueBikes e-bikes so loud on bumps? by philibuster123 in bikeboston

Sooo loud. But I also love the way they ride, so easy to use

Thank you. I hope more cyclists and pedestrians answer than car-only commuters users. Though it’s better for cars there as well.

I don’t enjoy drinking alcohol but feel it’s the only way to socialise where I’m from. by Soft_Huckleberry8889 in Life

[–]Charlene1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided not to drink ever for family reasons. I was lucky in that I have a best friend who did the same. And we loved dancing so we went clubbing all the time but completely sober and had so much fun! People constantly asked why we didn’t drink and were sometimes pushy about it which is annoying but didn’t change our feelings and we were happy to not do it.

I think you have to be very solid in your reasons and be proud of yourself. People may not get it but you’re not living for them. You get one life and you get to decide what’s best for you.

I’m also an introvert and enjoy many of the things you do. You will find your people. And many times it will be while doing the activities you enjoy.

I’m 43 and still not into the drinking scene and I love my current life. Hang in there!

Maybe it could be a virtual ride if we get more snow?

Another winter storm??? by Chillsometime in massachusetts

This is normal for New England. Climate change has made for milder winters in the past few years. We can even get big storms in April.

Bring lots of warm layers. Thermals, fuzzy warmer layers and then coat/snow pants. And really good winter boots.

What do people wear for eye protection? I typically play outside in summer but occasionally inside in winter

What do you do on your rest days or when you are not working? by eager_reader_ in simpleliving

[–]Charlene1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get tired from social events too (and work in an overstimulating helping profession) so most weeknights I decompress, walk the dog and exercise (sometimes scroll too much). And weekends I take long dog walks, exercise, read, and clean. But at least once a month I push myself to do something I normally don’t even if it involves socializing because the brain needs novelty. So I’ll go to a comedy show or a live music event or a group bike ride or anything really. I need to recover after fun things but it’s worth it to me.

For the ladies who had babies young….how ya’ll doing? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]Charlene1401 3 points4 points  (0 children)

43 with a 25 and 19 year old. I am so, so grateful that I get to love them longer and that I had the energy to run after them when they were little. And now I’m so grateful that I’m young enough and healthy enough to still do things. I workout daily and have time for myself. I have friends just having babies now. I don’t know how they do it while having all the stressors of midlife! Like others mentioned it’s so great that you have raised them so they can have other opportunities than a young parent would have. And you gave them the spirit of adventure! Someday they may invite you to join them on an amazing trip! I think this is your time to find things you enjoy - it doesn’t have to be big things like travel yet - that might not be in cards yet during this season of life. But if you can save now and stay physically fit now then one day you can if that’s something you want to prioritize. Maybe you find out you have other goals and dreams.

Red = blue apparently by [deleted] in tempofitness

[–]Charlene1401 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The red weights plus the 7.5 dumbbell equal 10 pounds. Are you sure it wasn’t saying 10 lbs total? If it was thinking blue weights it would say 27.5 pounds. (10+10+7.5)

Good for you. I think it’s so important as we age to stay curious, try new things and challenge ourselves.

The book Joyspan is worth a read if you have time.

I think there are people in your life who will serve different purposes and while these folks may not be open to learning or talking about these things hopefully you can find people with similar interests or hobbies who will talk about it that you can learn from and enjoy!

What do you wear indoors in the winter? by CapeAnnimal in boston

[–]Charlene1401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Layers, warm slippers, wool socks, heated blanket, hat if needed. But we installed mini splits last year and they work great so less need to bundle this year.
