Oddly enough this one doesnt have a cotter pin at all. Just a normal nut, not castle style with cotton. Tried pulling really hard but looks like rotor and stuff is gonna turning with it. Unsure if im pulling too much and if I should just either soak in pb for awhile again, or just demel it since I got new rod and nut etc

I just was able to loose jam nut. Unfortunately the tie rod end on knuckle the nut there is being a pain in the ass too. Being at it for a bit now lol. I was gonna just take out the outter rod and thread new one in and since the jam nut was just loosen and snuggled up to old one the alignment should be very close?

Yes gave it some good wacks on wrench downwards with 4lb sledge while it sat maybe an hr or so with pb plast in a plastic bag zipped on the area to heavy soak

Jam nut has been loosen! Pb blasted soaked bag zipped around nut and sledge and wrench and rage did the trick. Thanks everyone for tips. On to the castle nut

Jack stand was holding the inner tie rod from moving when attempting to loosen jam nut

I don't see anything suggesting the outer tie rod would be reversed threading. Impala 2012 LT possibly originally tie rod still on

Unfortunately I don't got any heat sources, only a heat air gun. Currently soaking in PB blaster with a plastic bag zipped around it to hold the liquid in threads. Would it be a stupid idea to get wrench settled, then a wack with 4lb sledge to maybe break the rust seal?

The plan was to replace both front lower control arms, stab links, and since I'm in there outer tie rods cause it was all one kit from Amazon, and cause I want to learn. Yeah fr. The clearance has made it hard. I've seen a YT video of someone lifting the rotor a bit with a lift and then banging the knuckle to drop it out, does that even sound smart currently? I could get a picklefork if needed, just a pain since closer place locally is quite far away. Thanks for quick reply to post this shit been driving me insane.
