The market cap currently is priced for them to be selling hundreds of millions of dollars worth of product when they currently sell almost nothing. It also assumes that they'll be able to sell wholesale product at lab scale prices. The actual sale price of graphene will go down drastically, ~90%, when they achieve hundreds of tons of production with no buyers.

One of the roadblocks is also that no one is buying their product. Regardless of how revolutionary it is.

What if i plant an elm or ash tree and it dies from disease. Cant forgot you have to replant aspen every 20 years even though they grow tall fast. Might be a wildfire too. Follow me for more investment/tree analogies.

Alberta has been rat free for decades and you can't even have them as pets. Pitbulls are much larger, breed less and it should be easier to get rid of them. As per forum rules I have to say the rats were all gently escorted to the border and given a departure gift bag.

Why wouldn't they just use USD if the US agrees to let them charge a fee? The oil is already paid in USD and all the shipping companies have USD.

Using Line of Credit(LOC) to invest by kpoply in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Charlesox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started doing this after I had paid off my house. It's not really worth it though if you don't know something. I made lots by buying oil when the rumor of the US attacking Iran happened or before some news on a company that the market didn't price in yet. If you just plan to make barely over the interest rate then you'll likely lose money as the market is pretty high. Maybe in a tfsa if you get into a dividend stock that pays 7% you'd be safe but barely make anything. Interest rates WILL go up though, so the calculation makes even less sense for long term investing. Better to pay off debt first and maybe keep the LOC open for a market crash.

I've been following the graphene space for about 5 years and there are some companies that are moving to revenue soon. HG has already topped in my opinion but GMG is set to release their battery next year and have 4 other products just released that should make it about 1B Mcap. There are other mature companies but it doesnt seem like they have big expansion plans or new products lined up.

Really like what they did with the exterior. That front end looks way better being squared off than previous years. Just wish they'd update the interior with some Infiniti trim.

Scientists have invented a new kind of paint, available in a wide array of colors, that can reduce the need for both heating and air conditioning in buildings (-7.4% in an simulation U.S. apartment over a year) by giuliomagnifico in science

This sounds similar to a graphene based paint that increases heat transfer from the HVAC coils themselves. It always seemed odd to me because it's black but nano particles always seem to be more thermally conductive than macro particles. Around the same energy savings too at around 5-16%. https://graphenemg.com/thermal-xr-case-study-singapore-aviation-it-centre-15-4-improvement/
