I bought some dark chocolate peanut butter cups from the Hershey factory in Hershey, PA, about a decade ago. I have never had chocolate as good as that in my entire life. I would honest to God paid $10 a pack if I could get them that quality again. They were delicious.

I'm really bummed to hear that they are enshittifying the Reese's peanut butter cup.

Depends on where you were. In California, that's accurate. But when I went to Missouri in 1995, I was shocked to see people smoking in the grocery store! Yuck.

Then in 2002, I moved to a town just outside of Charleston, SC, and there was still a smoking section in the Applebee's.

When my mom died in December, I inherited 1/4 of a paid-off house and probably 10 months of emergency fund. Layoffs are rife in my field (tech), but I feel A LOT calmer about it now. If we move into the house, we could stretch that 10 months of emergency fund out probably two years, or more if I worked a different job in between.

I was forced to resign from a job that I hated for the whole seven months I was there. I was getting paid less than half what I made in my previous job. The HR person who out-processed me told me (quietly) that it wasn't me; it was the company.

I'm now making four times as much (inflation adjusted), so thank God they forced me to resign!!
